This Bike Month kick-off event celebrates and merges Eugene’s bike culture and art scene, featuring: 2 6 PM | Epic Seconds (30 E 11th Ave) “Macedonian Noir” is a small retrospective of Robert Dandarov’s artwork over his multi-decade career. “My creative roots belong to Macedonia, a country that distinguishes itself by its cyclical periods of blood, poetry, image, myth and history.” Robert continues to work in this “Macedonian Noir” style, in which he forgoes all restraint and delves into the mysterious world of the inner psyche, often infusing it with an apocalyptic symbolism. 3 6:30 PM | Oregon Art Supply (1020 Pearl St) Sarah Grew presents a range of her work, including mixed media works on paper and paintings on steel. Steel allows her to use the reflective surface to create paintings that change with their environment and play with time, light, and motion as they redefine our notions of how paintings behave. 4 7 PM | Passionflower Design (128 E Broadway) Discover the Japanese art of creating pot-less ornamental plants! Kokedama (koke = moss, tama = ball) are a part of the art tradition called “Wabi Sabi” and are a popular, meditative way of creating stylish plant arrangements for your home. 5 7:30 PM | Karin Clarke Gallery (760 Willamette St) Karin Clarke Gallery welcomes spring with “Oregon Native Saints,” a glorious exhibit of new paintings by local artist Olga Volchkova that celebrates or “canonizes” local plants. Volchkova does an incredible amount of research before she begins each piece, filling the works with detail and “little jokes” which delight and charm the viewer. 8 The New Zone Gallery (22 W 7th Ave) “Retrofit,” assembled objects and detritus artwork by Wanda Seamster. The Klausmeier Room features student and staff artwork, crafts, and jewelry from Child’s Way Charter School. Music: Classical guitar, piano and sax performances by students of Child’s Way Charter School.

9 White Lotus Gallery (767 Willamette St) “Water,” an exhibition celebrating this driving force of nature. Includes photographs by Gary Tepfer and Charles Search, oil paintings by Margaret Prentice and Li Tie, work by master Japanese printmakers, such as Sekino Jun’ichiro, Iwami Reika, Hiratsuka Un’ichi, Koho Shoda, and Hamanishi Katsunori, as well as scroll paintings by Chinese artists Sun Hongwen, Zhang Jianyang, and Wang Mian.

(41 W Broadway) “Walking the Great Divide Trail,” photography by Jon Christopher Meyers. In 2016, Meyers walked the length of the Great Divide Trail in Canada, which is considered the most difficult through hike in North America. View a collection of photographs taken throughout his 50 days on the GDT, some of which were published in Backpacker Magazine in December 2016.

16 InEugene Real Estate (100 E Broadway) The Eugene Grid Project (EGP) is a 5-year project to photograph the Eugene metro area in small monthly chunks. Selected photographs from the project’s first year, including work by Lee Sparks Pembleton, Kelly Pembleton, Chris Carlson, Sarah Grew, Blake Andrews, Michael Taylor, Jerry Jump, Danielle Mericle, and David Turner, are in this show.

17 Architects in Schools Project Showcase (942 Olive St) The Architects in Schools program matches professional architects, engineers, and other design professionals with elementary school teachers for a 6-week classroom residency. This year, participating Eugene schools included Buena Vista Spanish Immersion School, Family School, River Road/El Camino del Rio, and Twin Oaks, as well as Two Rivers-Dos Rios in Springfield. Stop by to see some of the great design projects created by these third through fifth grade students!

18 #instaballet (Capitello Wines, 540 Charnelton St) Help dancers from Eugene Ballet Company make a new ballet! The audience is encouraged to suggest new moves for the dancers to perform, resulting in audience driven art created in real-time. No dance experience is required and all ages are welcome. The final piece will be presented at 8pm. Also on display: Acrylic abstracts by Jeremy Brooks. 19 No Shame Eugene

(99 W 10th Ave) The doors open at 7:30pm with live music. The show begins at 8pm with fifteen original, 5-minute acts. Come as a performer, or no shame in just watching!

6 Framin’ Artworks (505 High St) Pastel Oregon landscapes by Alisha Snyder, and oil paintings and photography by Steve “Esteban” Davis.

7 The Lincoln Gallery (309 W 4th Ave) “Unconventional Canvas” is a showcase of unique artwork inspired by the idea that anything can be a canvas for creativity, from stones and metals, to furniture and household items. The Community Gallery features artwork by David Placencia.
