    The competition is the main highlight of our festival with the largest prize money awarded. It is through the competition that participants learn to work together to achieve a common goal.

    I N D I V I D U A L M A S T E R C L A S S-

    During the individual master class, choir members together with the choir conductor will be able to work specifically on the choirs strengths and weaknesses identified by the adjudicators during the competition.

    M A S S M A S T E R C L A S S-

    The mass master class aims to provide participants with an all-rounded learning experience.

    P U B L I C P E R F O R M A N C E-

    Choirs will have various opportunities to perform in various locations in Singapore, from education institutions to the various attractions in Singapore to increase their exposure to the Singapore audience.

    S c h o o l / C h o i r E x c h a n g e-

    Participating choirs will be given the opportunity to interact with other choir from other nations. It is through such sessions that they interact, relate and forge lasting friendships.

    " s i g n o f m u s i c " c o n c e r t-

    The main purpose of the concert is to spread awareness on the hearing impaired through universal language - MUSIC. It is an alternative concert for audience to FEEL and TOUCH music. Hearing impaired associations and choir participants are invited to join the concert together to experience the limitless of music.

    G A L A C O N C E R T / C L O S I N G C E R E M O N Y

    -Each category winner will present their winning choral pieces to the other participants and visitors at the grand Prix competition. Part of the tickets proceeds from this concert will be channeled to our adopted festival charity beneficiary, Arc Childrens Centre a day care centre for children with cancer.

    1. Thejuryconsistsofapaneloffiveinternationalchoralexperts.Thedecisionsofthejuryarefinalandcannotbecontested.

    2. Each choir will be evaluated on a 100-point system based on the following criteria: (a) Technicality (40%) Intonation, Rhythm, Diction, Dynamics and Balance;

    (b) Musicality (40%) Fidelity to partitur (Adherence to Original Score), Phrasing, Interpretation and Style; (c) Overall impression (20%) Programming, Expression and Overall Artistic Impression.

    3. Each adjudicator will give the scores independently. The finalresultis based on the average of the scores given by each adjudicator.

  • Special Jury AwardsThe jury may award additional special prizes for outstanding artistic achievements e.g. Conductors Prize, Best Interpretation Prize and etc.

    Special PrizeA special prize will be awarded for the best performance of a Singapore composition or arrangement.

    DelegationsExceptionally outstanding choirs may be delegated for the next competition.

    *Category winner cash prize will be awarded ONLY when there are at least 3 competing choirs in the same category.

    According to the scores attained, choirs will be awarded the following:

    GOLD Summa cum Laude 95 pts & aboveDiploma Grade I 90 pts & above Grade II 85 89.90 pts Grade III 80 84.90 pts

    SILVER Grade I 75 79.90 ptsDiploma Grade II 70 74.90 pts Grade III 65 69.90 pts BRONZE Grade I 60 64.90 pts Grade II 55 59.90 pts Grade III 50 54.90 pts Category WinnersThe choir that is awarded the Gold diploma with the highest score in a category will be the category winner. It will receive a trophy and a certificate.Furthermore, a cash prize will be awarded when there are at least 3 competing choirs in the same category.

    Grand Prix WinnerThe jury will nominate the category winners or top 5 scorers to the Grand Prix competition. The winner of the Grand Prize Competition will receive the special Grand Prize Trophy and cash prize of SGD$10,000.00.

    The Grand Prix competition programme must contain 2 a cappella works, one of which is not sung by the choir in any category competition. The maximum duration of these 2 pieces is 8 minutes. The Grand Prix competition will take place during the finalevening of the festival on Saturday 26 July 2015.
