Gojan School of Business and Technology, under Gojan Educational Trust, started in theyear 2005, in memory of the great visionary Shri Gopalakrishnan and Shrimathi JanakiAmmal,father and mother of our Honourable Chairman Dr.G Natarajan, with 4 branches and asanctioned intake of 240 students. Today we offer 14 courses- 7 UG courses and 7 PG courses.

The Annual Report of Gojan School of Business and Technology for the academic year2018-2019 including some of the many accomplishments for the academic year 2018-2019 aresummarised below.

1. Our students have secured University Ranks in the Anna University Examinations for the pastseveral years. The latest being Ms.Divya G.M of MBA Department (2016-18) batch has secured40th Rank in Anna University Examinations. Hearty Congratulations to her. Last year, We had 3Anna University ranks.

2. Gojan School of Business and Technology is a member of Confederation of Indian Industry(CII). The CII, founded in 1895, works to create and sustain an environment conducive to thedevelopment of India, partnering industry, Government and civil society, through advisory and

consultative processess. CII is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organization, playing a proactive role in India’s development process. CII worksclosely with Government on policy issues. It has global links and offers a range of specialisedservices for industry.

3. After receiving accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC),an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC), NewDelhi in the year2015 for 5 years up to 2020, We received 12(B) and 2(f) Status under UGC Act from theUniversity Grants Commission (UGC). The UGC provides financial assistance to eligiblecolleges which are included under Section 2(f) and declared us fit to receive central assistance(UGC Grant) under Section 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956 under various schemes. Few collegesare recognized under Section 2(f) but are not yet declared fit for receiving central assistance asthey do not fulfill the conditions laid down for such status.

4. In future, we may receive Autonomous status, as few reputed colleges prefer it, as it can frameits own syllabus, carry out its own examination, but will provide Degrees of Anna University.We have the state-of-the-art laboratories, computing facilities, library and other infrastructure tosuit such status in future, if required. We have well qualified and experienced staff members withtotal professional commitment to fulfill it.Many of our faculties have published several researchpapers in reputed journals and conferences.

5. The Department of Technical Education (DOTE) has approved and sanctioned money for 2best Student Projects this year for 2 departments. Congratulations to the Departments ofMechanical Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE).

6. This year we received permanent affiliation for Aeronautical Engineering department. As ontoday, totally 6 UG Departments and 1 PG MBA Department has got permanent affiliation fromAnna University.

7. Our institution is certified by ISO 9001-2008 for providing educational services in the field ofengineering, technology and management studies in undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

8. Gojan School of Business and Technology, apart from being accredited by NAAC, is tuningitself to meet the NBA Accreditation within 2 years. It is a process of quality assurance andimprovement, whereby a program in an institution is critically apprised to verify whether theinstitution continues to meet or exceeds the standard and norms as prescribed by the regulatorNBA, New Delhi, coming under the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Governmentof India.

9. Gojan has several collaborations with industries. To name a few, the “CISCO Centre ofExcellence” with the help of CISCO Systems Ltd.,. and the other “Jio Centre for Fibre to HomeFTTH Laboratory” with the help of Mukesh Ambani Group, that is, Jio Infocommunication Ltd.

Through these, students have a brighter chance to get placed in top notch companies within thenetworking sector.

10. There is an Industry-Institute Interaction Cell at our College. We have conducted many GuestLectures, Seminars, Workshops, send students for Internships and Projects, Organize IndustrialVisits, sign MoUs and also place our students in reputed companies. We have a EntreprenuershipDevelopment Cell (EDC) to cater to the needs of budding entrepreneurs for “Make in India” and“Made in India” schemes as per the Government of India.

I thank the Chairperson and the Chairman- for their continuous moral support to us and our Vice-Chairman- for his global approach and outlook. I wish to convey and appreciate and grace thisremarkable event with their august presence.

Finally, I thank the teaching and non-teaching staff for their team work. Let us all strive andwork together to build our institution as a global centre for engineering education.

My prayers to the Almighty for showering His blessings on us throughout.

Our Department had organised a Guest Lecture under the topic “Modern ConstructionMethods”presented by Mr.S.Baskar., M.E., (Ph.D) from Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr.Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, Avadi.

Another Guest Lecture: “Advance Construction Techniques on under WaterConstruction” was presented by Mr.S.Sampath M.E (PhD) from St.Peter’s University,Avadi.

National level technical symposium titled as CHAKRAVYUHA 2K18was organized forthe development ofstudents interaction with various co-curricular activities.

INCORPORATING WITH PCM THERMAL STORAGE” during the academic year 2018-

2019.

1. ITM Business School, Chennai Campus organized a National Conference on 26th February

2016 at ITM Business School (SIPCOT IT CAMPUS), Siruseri. The theme of the conference

1.Our students of 1st year MBA have attended the “BUSINESS EXPO” which was held at

KALAIVANAR ARANGAM on NOV 29 2018 were our students learned about the complete

framework of the Entrepreneur Development. The Expo was very useful to our budding

entrepreneur.

2. Our college organized the 2ndNational Level Technical symposium. Which was held at our

3.Our college have arranged for an Industrial Visits to “CHENNAI PORT TRUST” ON

OCTOBER 10 2018, along with the 30 students and the 3 faculty members. Students have

enjoyed the sight and they have learned the complete concept in Supply Chain Management,

Port And Terminal Management And Also In Exim Management. It really helps our students

to go in-depth in the field of Logistics which is the part of our curriculum.
