The Society of Friends:• Also known as “Quakers”• Christians who sought to return their faith to the simplicity & spirituality of the 

early church fathers. 

The Inner Light: God is in everyone. • One does not have to follow Christian dogma, like the Puritans did. • Everyone can attain salvation 

• Quaker Profile:            ·         ­ pacifists so no military defense                     ­  equality between the sexes                     ­  small families to ensure enough love for their children                     ­   Do not believe in predestination                     ­   Will not take oaths                     ­   social equality (no social class structure)                     ­   only marry other Quakers                     ­  church decisions had to be unanimous                           ­   dealing fairly with the Indians (they had no militia)
