BENNY AGOSTO, JR. BENNY AGOSTO, JR. Hispanic National Bar Association Benny Agosto, Jr. is a partner with Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels & Friend. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial, Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Agosto is the Former Hispanic National Bar Association’s Region XII President (‘06-‘08), is on the Houston Bar Association Board of Directors and is a member of the Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee. He is Chair of the Houston Bar Association Administration of Justice Committee. He is the Co-Founder & Co-Editor in Chief of the HNBA Journal of Law & Policy. He is past President of the Mexican American Bar Association of Texas. In 2006, Benny Agosto, Jr., founded the MABATx Scholarship Foundation benefitting Hispanic law students, received the State Bar of Texas 2006 President’s Certificate of Merit, the Houston Bar Association’s 2006 President’s Award, was recognized as one of HBA’s 2006 “Local Heroes”, the Houston Trial Lawyers Association’s 2006 Mentor of the Year, and was named as one of Texas’ Super Lawyers by Texas Monthly Magazine (‘05 - ‘09). In 2007, Mr. Agosto was inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Mr. Agosto is a frequent speaker and lecturer on issues relating to civil litigation. Mr. Agosto has appeared all over Texas to deliver presentations ranging from advocacy tips to the evidentiary relevance of the illegal status of injured workers; from how to take a deposition to persuasion techniques at trial, and from choosing the right expert to Texas insurance law. Mr. Agosto has published multiple articles in numerous journals and periodicals with nationwide publication. His work has been published in publications such as Texas Monthly, Texas Bar Journal and The Houston Lawyer. His topics include issues regarding immigration, civil litigation, analysis of expert witnesses and mediation for litigators. Mr. Agosto has appeared on local and national television news programs.
