TheSoftware is copyrighted and may not be cop-ied, even if modified or merged with other pro-ducts. 4 EXPORT LAWASSURANCESYou agree and certify that neither the Softwarenor any other technical data received fromPioneer, nor the direct product thereof, will beexported outside the United States except asauthorized and as permitted by the laws andregulations of the United States. If the Soft-ware has been rightfully obtained by you out-side of the United States, you agree that youwill not re-export the Software nor any othertechnical data received from Pioneer, nor thedirect product thereof, except as permitted bythe laws and regulations of the United Statesand the laws and regulations of the jurisdic-tion in which you obtained the Software.

5 TERMINATIONThis Agreement is effective until terminated.You may terminate it at any time by destroyingthe Software. The Agreement also will termi-nate if you do not comply with any terms orconditions of this Agreement. Upon such ter-mination, you agree to destroy the Software.

6 U.S. GOVERNMENT END USERSIf the Software is being acquired by or on be-half of the United States government or anyother entity seeking or applying rights similarto those customarily claimed by the UnitedStates government, the Data is licensed with“Limited Rights”. Utilization of the Software issubject to the restrictions specified in the“Rights in Technical Data” clause at DFARS252.227-7013, or the equivalent clause for non-defense agencies. 7 MISCELLANEOUSThis is the entire Agreement between Pioneerand you regarding its subject matter. Nochange in this Agreement shall be effectiveunless agreed to in writing by Pioneer. Ifany provision of this Agreement is declared in-valid or unenforceable, the remaining provi-sions of this Agreement shall remain in fullforce and effect.

New operations for “Browsingthe XM special contents”The following features have been modified toenhance ease of operation.

Storing browsable informationXM special contents can be stored as “My Fa-vorites” so that it can be accessed withoutsearching every time an update is needed.p The displayed items depend on the infor-

mation that is sent from each station.p “My Favorites” can store up to 50 items.

1 Touch [Info/Traffic] in the navigationmenu, then touch [Set My Favorites].The screen will display a list of categories. Theinformation appearing on screen is automati-cally updated at regular intervals.

2 Touch a category you want to browsefrom the list.

3 Touch an item you wish to store.

If an item is divided into more detail cate-gories, select the one from the list to narrowdown the category. After narrowing down, themessage confirming whether or not to registerthe item will appear.

4 Touch [OK].

If the storing step is successful, the confirma-tion screen will appear.Touch [OK] to complete the storing and returnto the previous screen.

The program is installed to the navigation sys-tem using the application discs.When installing the program, you carry outthe following operations. When all the setupprocedures are completed, you can use thenavigation system.The screen images used in this section areAVIC-N2 as an example.

CAUTIONYou cannot go back to the previous (pre-upgrade) version of the application afterthe software upgrade is completed. Also,the map discs that were previously usedcannot be used. Instead, use the CNDV-110MT DVDs as your new map discs.

1 Park your vehicle in a safe place.Leave the engine on, and make sure that theparking brake is applied.

2 Remove the current disc.

3 Insert the new Pioneer DVD Map Discinto the appropriate slot.When the upgraded program has been found,installation of the program starts immediately.

p If you cannot insert a disc completely or ifan inserted disc is not recognized, checkthat the label side of the disc is up. Pressthe EJECT (or DVD-ROM EJECT) button toeject the disc, and check the disc for da-mage before inserting the disc again.

CAUTIONWhile this screen is visible, NEVER switch theignition key position or turn off the power of na-vigation system.

When the installation is complete, the openingdisplay appears.

p By upgrading AVIC-N1 or AVIC-N3 withthese discs, the same screen appears.

p By upgrading other models with thesediscs, the following opening display ap-pears.

4 Press the NAVI/AV button to changethe navigation screen. (If you use AVIC-D1or AVIC-D2, press the MAP button.)Some time is needed until navigation is ready.

5 Check the details of the caution mes-sage and touch [OK].The map of your surroundings is displayed.You can operate the navigation system bytouching keys displayed on the screen asusual.

When upgrading AVIC-N1, perform the following pro-cedure.

6 To set the time difference, touch [+] or[–].

Time difference

The time difference between the time origin-ally set in the navigation system (Pacific Stan-dard Time) and the current location of yourvehicle is shown. If necessary, adjust the timedifference. Touching [+] or [–] changes thetime difference display in one-hour incre-ments. The time difference can be set from +3to –3 hours.

7 If necessary, set to summer time.Daylight Saving Time (DST) is off by default.Touch [Summer Time] to change the time ifyou are in the daylight saving period. Thisturns the display below summer time [On].

8 To complete the setting, touch [Back].

The map of your surroundings appears.
