A. General Criteria of Eligibility RA 7687 MERIT natural-born Filipino citizen; poor, talented and deserving student who

belongs to a family whose socio-economic statusdoes not exceed the set values of certainindicators;

top five percent (5%) of the regular high schoolgraduating class; or

member of the graduating class of a DOST-SEIidentified or DepEd-recognized science highschool;

resident of the municipality for the last 4 yearsas attested by the barangay;

of good moral character and in good health; and qualifier of the 2014 S&T Scholarship Examination

B. Not qualified to Apply

those who have earned units in anypost-secondary/undergraduate course;

those who have taken any previous DOST-SEIScholarship Examination; and

those who have applied for immigrant status inthe USA or any other country.

The awardees shall be selected on the basis of their performance in the2014 S&T Scholarship Examination.

H. Selection Criteria

The list of awardees as approved and announced by the DOST Secretaryis final and unappealable.

I. Final Selection

This is an aptitude test designed to measure abilities that determineacademic and professional success in science, mathematics andengineering. The test is divided into two major components:

1. IntellectiveScientific Ability; Quantitative Ability; Mechanical and Technical

Ability; Linguistic Ability; Imagery; Inspection; Sensorimotor Ability

Accomplished form can be filed at the Science Education Institute,or DOST Regional Office/PSTC nearest the applicants school orhome address.

The Test Permit/s shall be mailed to the applicant or school principal fordistribution to the applicants. In case the test permits are not receivedwithin the week before the examination day, the examinees may inquirefrom the DOST Regional Office/PSTC and check the nearest designatedtest center a day before the examination.

F. Scholarship Requirements

b) An awardee shall comply with the terms of the ScholarshipAgreement to be entered into between himself/herself, parents orlegal guardian and the DOST-SEI.

c) After signing the Scholarship Agreement, the awardees name shallbe included in the lists of scholars needing clearance from

DOST-SEI forwarded to the appropriate government agencies fortracking purposes.d) An awardee shall maintain the grade requirements of the

scholarship.e) Upon completion of his/her course, an awardee shall serve in the

country, preferably in his/her home region, on full-time basis alonghis/her field of training for a minimum period equivalent to thelength of time he/she enjoyed the scholarship.

He/She should pass the qualifying examination for

admission to the university where he/she plans to enroll in.

a) An awardee must seek admission and enroll at any of the:a.1 State universities and colleges.a.2 Tertiary institutions identified as Centers of Excellence or

Centers of Development by CHED for the priority courses.a.3 DOST-SEI identified network institutions.
