L ike most people, you probably watched at least a tiny bit of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro last
month. With a sporting event of that magni-tude, it’s pretty hard to ignore.
We should all be pretty proud that the United States swept the worldwide compe-tition with 46 gold medals. You know the winners — Simone Biles, Michael Phelps,
Gwen Jorgensen, Katie Ledecky, Michelle Carter and so many more. ey were the fastest, the most nimble and the strongest in their sports.
But what always impresses me the most are the team victories. We brought home gold in men’s and women’s basketball, the men’s 4x100-meter freestyle swimming relay, the women’s 4x100-meter track and eld relay and the women’s team gymnastics nal, just to name a few.
Much like those Olympic teams, our 2016 Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies demonstrate the power of teamwork in their race to the top. ese 50 businesses have put in the time to become well-oiled, revenue-generating machines — all the while making their achievements seem e ortless. With smart, focused leadership and hard-working associates, it’s obvious why they have been successful.
But it’s only with the support and enthusiasm of our sponsors that we are able to put on the annual Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies program. Many thanks to our presenting sponsor, Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP; major sponsors Comcast Business, Highmark Blue Shield, e JFC Sta ng Companies, McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC and PNC Financial Services Group; and supporting spon-sors CDS Group and Polaris Advisors.
So who won the race? Keep reading to learn about this year’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies and how they contribute to our local business community.

4 Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies 2016
From Our Presenting Sponsor
E very company has a company culture. Whether you are a member of a large fi rm or you own a small business, your organization and its
employees develop a philosophy and follow a set of values. These days, a company’s culture is a main at-traction for recruiting and retaining the most talented professionals and dedicated employees. Company cul-tures are not only internally present, but they become externally acknowledged and respected as the values become a part of each team member’s professional and personal life.
Now I want you to stop and think: What are your company’s values? Does your organization praise creativity and collaboration as part of its culture? Or maybe you emphasize education, diversity, team building, the environment, making a diff erence, community, honesty, accountability — the list goes on. Most companies stress all of these values to some degree. Does your company make its principles publicly known to its people and the community as part of growing its culture? I fi nd that emphasizing company values starting at the executive level helps to nurture positive attitudes and a strong work ethic among employees and, therefore, to customers and clients.
It is evident that the Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies in Central Pennsylva-nia value their people and community. After all, the people you employ and the community you support are the foundation for success and continuous growth. Growth is certainly another value, and it is not only important to grow your busi-ness’ revenue, but also to cultivate your people, the brand, and the services and products you off er. Upholding the values that defi ne a company’s culture contrib-utes to the triumph of being one of the fastest-growing companies of 2016.
At Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly), formerly SF&Company, the emphasis we place on our people defi nes our culture, and that culture is what connects us with our clients, fellow team members, colleagues and community. Although our fi rm places an emphasis on all the ideals I previously mentioned, we have defi ned three core values as part of our fi rm culture, which we call “The Essence of Baker Tilly.” These core values are integrity, passion and stewardship.
We live the value of integrity by doing the right thing, for the right reason, every day. We live and work with passion by putting forth our best eff ort each day for the betterment of our people, clients and fi rm with an enthusiastic attitude and genuine satisfaction from working together. We live the value of stewardship by nurturing, mentoring and empowering our people, creating a supportive and enjoyable work environment, and remaining adaptable as our clients and the market change over time. We invest for the future with the intention of leaving everything better.
As part of Baker Tilly’s culture, we encourage community involvement and charitable activities. That is why we are proud to once again partner with the Central Penn Business Journal to honor the fastest-growing companies in the region. With 85 years of accounting, tax and advisory experience, it is our privilege to review the fi nancial information submitted by the nominees and calculate the ranking of the top 50 fi nalists. To qualify for the Central Penn Business Journal’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies program, a company had to nominate itself or be nominated by another company. Applicants were required to sup-
ply three years of revenue information (2013, 2014 and 2015), demonstrate revenue of at least $500,000 and show increasing revenue overall, from year one to year three. Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, performed the rankings for this program.
Companies were rst ranked by dollar growth from year one to year three. e company with the largest dollar growth received the highest ranking, with the company having the second-largest dollar growth receiving the sec-ond-highest ranking and the other companies following suit.
Rankings were then assigned for the percentage of growth from year one to year three. Again, the company with the largest percentage growth was assigned the highest ranking. Rankings for dollar and percentage growth were then totaled to determine the nal Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies.
e company with the highest combined ranking was named the No. 1 company of the program, with the other companies following in order. In cases where there was a tie, the company with the larger dollar growth received the higher ranking.

Unilife on shaky ground as it seeks buyer or partnerBY MICHAEL SADOWSKI
michaels@cpbj .com
Sales in the injectable-drug delivery
market could rise more than 76 percent
to almost $575 billion by 2020, so it’s
easy to see why a struggling company
in the industry would want to hold
on as long as it can to grab a piece of
that pie.
But for Conewago Township-based
Unilife Corp., holding on may not work.
The injectable-drug delivery com-
pany disclosed this month that some-
thing drastic needs to happen by the
end of the year or else it may not have
enough liquidity to make it into 2016.
The company has set a deadline of
Dec. 31 to decide what road it will take
for the future. Options include a sale
of the company, which has racked up
net losses in the last five years of about
$305 million.
“The difficulty with this company
is they’ve signed a number of these
(product development) deals with
pharmaceutical companies in the last
few years, but they have not proceeded
to the point where they have become
commercial deals,” said Raj Denhoy, a
managing director of equity research at
New York City-based Jefferies LLC and
an analyst who covers Unilife. “That’s
where the real money is going to come

Nancy Sacunas spent the last 25 years
building her brand.
It’s only fitting then that, despite a new
owner, the Lower Paxton Township-based
business-to-business marketing and
branding agency bearing her name con-
tinues to capitalize on that recognition.
“No name changes. We all believe in
what Nancy has built,” said Adam Vasquez,
president and new owner of Sacunas Inc.
Vasquez, who has worked in marketing
for more than 15 years, including leader-
ship positions with publicly traded TE
Connectivity Ltd. and Solera Holdings,
bought the 18-person company from Sa-
cunas in June after moving back to the
Harrisburg area.
He spent a good chunk of his early
career as a client, hiring Sacunas for work
