CHINA EXCHANGE 2017 YEAR 9 &10 HOST FAMILIES NEEDED! Since 2010, many Merbein P-10 families have generously opened their homes and shared their lives with students from our sister school in Dali, China. This year, we are seeking even greater support from our school community to help make this year’s exchange program a success. In 2017, Merbein P-10 College and Red Cliffs Secondary College will be seeking host families for around 35 Chinese students. Hosting a student is a great opportunity for Year 9 students considering taking part in the China Exchange in Year 10. It is also a great way for Year 10 students who would like to get involved in the program even if they cannot travel to China themselves. Host students will have the opportunity to participate in a week of activities and excursions as part of the exchange visit. If hosting a student from China is an experience you think your family would benefit from, we would greatly appreciate your support. Please contact Chris Blackie at [email protected] if you would like further information.

The University of Queensland is seeking parents of children with type 1 diabetes to take part in a research study that will explore factors that could help or hinder parents in managing their child’s diabetes. If you are a parent of a 2- to 10-year-old child with type 1 diabetes, the University would love to hear from you! By sharing your experiences (confidentially), you will help identify better ways for health care professionals to support parents and families.
