I’d also like to welcome Michelle Loui to Huskisson Public
School. Michelle joins us on staff from a large Sydney school
and Mrs LeAnn Hanson who was permanently appointed to
Huskisson Public School from Illaroo Rd Public School.
Finally I’d like to acknowledge the contribution of every single
student this year that together make up this great school –
Huskisson Public School.
As I often say – Stay Strong, Stay Smart

STAFFING 2017
Our teaching staff will have some changes next year
Mrs Domazar has accepted a transfer to Nowra East Public
School. Staff, students and I am sure parents are aware
of the contribution Mrs Domazar has made to Huskisson
Public School over the more than twenty years of service
at the school. Mrs Domazar will be sorely missed, but
she feels it is time for new challenges in her career.
Mrs Maggie New returns from extended leave.
Mrs Kylie Wilson completes her temporary contract here at
Huskisson Public School. I thank Mrs Wilson for her
dedication and commitment to the students and the
school community whilst Mrs New has been on extend-
ed leave and wish her well in her professional career.
Miss Michelle Loui is our newest staff member after being
successful during the latest recruitment process. Miss
Loui joins us from Riverbank Public School.
Mrs Katerina Watson joins us from Jervis Bay School. She
was granted a temporary contract as a result of a recent
expression of interest held by the school.
Ms Adrienne Sue also joins us in our team as a recent
transfer from Nowra East Public School.
BOTTLE FLIPPING.
Today’s Bottle flipping raised enough money to purchase
through World Vision clean water, one goat and four
chooks.
Have a wonderful festive season!

Principal’s Message
As this is the last Husky Star for the year, I’d like to wish everybody
a safe and happy Christmas break.
On Tuesday night, despite the heat, our Presentation Night was
very successful. Staff all agree we need to look at shortening the
night, but we are very happy with the venue. It allows us to set up
and decorate the stage to fit the big occasion. Our thoughts are we
will have two sessions.
K – 2 session where Kindergarten to Year Two classes are
awarded their class and library awards. A break where drinks and food are available. Our P& C would also have the opportunity to run a fundraiser.
3 – 6 session
Parents of K – 2 students can make the decision to either leave or
join us for the 3 – 6 session that would include class and major
awards as well as the announcement of our new school leaders.
The plan would be for two 45 minute sessions.
PRINCIPAL’S SPEECH
Welcome to our annual Presentation Assembly. Tonight celebrates
a year of achievements and successes.
I’d like to begin by introducing our special quests that represent the
strong connections we have in our school and wider community.
We honour your presence here tonight -
P&C President – Mrs Jade Costello.
VHS School Captains Beatrix Brady and Matthew Brown.
Mrs Lynne Arnold representing the Honourable Member for South
Coast Mrs Shelly Hancock. Lynne will present an award
sponsored by her office to the ‘Most Promising Public Speaker
and Debating Student’.
Miss Bonnie Marshall on behalf of State Member for Gilmore Mrs
Anne Sudmalis. Bonnie will present the Young Leaders Award.
Mr Bob Roach Mr John Mendola – Representatives of the
Huskisson RSL Sub Branch.
Tonight each teacher will present an academic excellence award to
the highest achieving academic student in their class. They will
receive a certificate and a book for their reading enjoyment.
Awards will also be presented for literacy, Numeracy, Citizenship
and encouragement or progress.
Tonight I have the privilege of presenting a certificate of
accreditation to Mr Ben Frost that recognises officially his
Proficiency as a teacher with the Board of Studies. Congratulations
Mr Frost. At this point I’d also like to acknowledge the work of all
my staff who together make a great team. Many of the
contributions are out of the goodness of their heart and
volunteered. I’d particularly like to thank all our newest teaching
staff who have value added to the school Ms Greta Lewis my new
AP, Miss Anna Roose and Mr Ben Frost.
