July 9-13 | Adirondack AdventuresMYERS EDUCATION CENTER, 15 HENNING RD, SARATOGA, NY
Explore your backyard, expand your world! This week we take a closer look at the park in your backyard. Campers will learn how this area evolved over time to become the spectacular place it is today by looking at the geology, history and culture of the Adirondacks. We will spend time observing nature and the unique adaptations animals in our region have that give them the ability to survive in this habitat. Campers will have fun learning basic survival skills of their own including fire building, making a shelter and learning how to prepare water for drinking. Our culinary classes will have our campers creating regional favorites while learning what special ingredients are native to New York.
July 16-20 | Around the WorldMYERS EDUCATION CENTER, 15 HENNING RD, SARATOGA, NY
Travel the World in just a few days! This week we take our campers on an exciting adventure around the world. Campers will explore international cultures by studying their unique art and designs. Each country has an art form influenced by their own history, traditions and culture. Just as art has a story to tell, so does the food from each country. Students will learn how to prepare fun and delicious dishes from around the world! Students will also be introduced to a variety of methods of coding throughout the week including the very popular Raspberry Pi from the UK and Arduinos founded in Italy! Courses are created to give students an international experience. We will learn about different countries through their art, cuisine, coding and sports! We know how to import the fun, so get your passports ready!
Summer Enrichment CampSummer Enrichment Camp has been created to offer our most popular classes throughout the day. Campers will rotate through 3-4 activity periods in the subject areas of STEM, Art, Culinary and Fitness. Each week begins with a new theme and ends with a field trip to one of our area’s best attractions.

Geek is the new chic! This week we bring fun, innovation and technology together. Explore the up and coming world of Robotics, they are everywhere and have been around longer than you may think. Have fun creating your own world, filled with unique characters you craft from your imagination while designing a role playing board game. Campers will also learn some exciting new superhero moves in our kickboxing class! Geek Week will bring our students into the world of tomorrow by learning innovative technologies of today!

Step back in time, and back to basics. This week our classes are focused on practical skills. Campers will enjoy learning how the components in simple machines work, why they were invented and how to apply these basic building blocks to create their own simple machine. Students will explore the science behind their favorite foods and gain a better understanding of the importance of ingredients...it’s more than just taste! We will introduce campers to the art of photography and explore several different methods of photography with the use of digital cameras and the unlimited wonders of Photoshop! Campers will be excited to work with their hands and create projects to show off to friends and family!

Science, Technology, Engineering, Math!Our STEM Academy is designed to introduce students to a variety of interesting STEM fields. We will have fun investigating scientific mysteries by portraying scientists, judges, attorneys, suspects and witnesses in a series of mock trials! Campers will also explore the world of forensics, including fingerprints, learning to identify skeletal remains, and blood analysis. We really turn up the creativity in our animation class where students get a chance to design their own characters. This week is filled with cool experiments and hands on activities that will really get your STEM fans wanting more!

Farm to Table Culinary CampFarm to Table Culinary Camp will take campers behind the scenes by visiting 2-3 local farms each week where they are able to choose fresh ingredients to use back at the kitchen. Each week will be a new, exciting experience.

WSWHE BOCES Code of Conduct Summary BOCES students shall have the rights afforded to students under the provision of the Federal and State constitutions and the laws of the State of New York.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
A student shall not act in such a manner which disrupts the rights of others or which causes disorder or invades the rights of others.
A school is a place of learning. Learning involves the expansion of knowledge as well as acting in a manner considerate of the rights and feelings of others. Students learn from each other. Students must be conscious that younger students follow the leadership of upper classmen. Such examples should enhance the school environment.
Students are expected to show respect for faculty and all other members of the school community. A relationship based upon respect creates a harmonious environment. It shall be the responsibility of students to:
1. Be aware of and obey school rules and regulations. 2. Accept responsibility for their own actions. 3. Respect the rights of others, including the right to secure an education in an environment that is orderly and disciplined. 4. Avoid bullying, harassing behavior. 5. Attend school regularly and punctually. 6. Take advantage of the academic opportunities offered at school. 7. Support and participate in school activities. 8. Maintain habits of personal cleanliness. 9. Respect school property and the property of others. 10. Strive for mutually respectful relationships with teachers and administrators recognizing their role as surrogate parent in matters of behavior and discipline.
There will be a range of consequences for students engaging in any of the above conduct.
Prohibited Conduct on BOCES Premises
All WSWHE BOCES rules and regulations apply to students:
On the school grounds or within reasonable proximity to school grounds during and immediately before or after school hours.
On the school grounds at any other time when the school is being used by a school group.
Off the school grounds, on school buses, at a school activity, function, or event.
Off the school grounds when the prohibited behavior is a consequence of or directly related to causes or events which occurred or originated on school grounds.
Whenever the misconduct has a real and substantial relationship to the lawful maintenance and operation of the school district, including the health and safety of the students and employees, and/or otherwise adversely affects the education process.
THERANGE OF CONSEQUENCES
The range of consequences that may be imposed for the conduct set forth in the Code of Conduct for Student Behavior is as follows: 1. Verbal warning; 2. Written warning; 3. Written notification to parent/guardian; 4. Counseling; 5. Reprimand, either written or verbal; 6. Suspension from club activities; 7. Suspension of other privileges; 8. Assignment to alternative learning environment; 9. Involuntary transfer; 10. Suspension from instruction; 11. Removal from classroom by teacher
The building principal, program supervisor, or district superintendent shall determine the type and extent of discipline. Such disciplinary measures shall be appropriate to the seriousness of the offense and, where applicable, to the previous disciplinary record of the student. Any suspension from attendance from instruction may be imposed only in accordance with Education Law section 3214 (3) as defined by the WSWHE BOCES or component school procedures for suspension.
The Board recognizes that it may be necessary to suspend, remove or otherwise discipline students with disabilities to address disruptive or problem behavior. The Board also recognizes that students with disabilities have certain procedural protections whenever school authorities intend to impose discipline upon them. The Board is committed to ensuring that the procedures followed for suspending, removing or otherwise disciplining students with disabilities are consistent with the procedural safeguards required by applicable laws and regulations.
This code of conduct affords students with disabilities subject to disciplinary action no greater or lesser rights than those expressly afforded by applicable federal and state law regulations.
2018 Enrichment Faculty Assistant Application

Students interested in being a faculty assistant must be a rising junior or senior in high school. The position is volunteer based, however your hours can count for community service for either National Honor Society or Participation in Government. In addition, the experience is helpful for college for scholarship applications.
Students applying must submit a recommendation from a school counselor or teacher from their home school. Positions are available at the F. Donald Myers Education Center located at 15 Henning Road, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, the Southern Adirondack Education Center 1051 Dix Avenue, Hudson falls, NY 12839 and the SUNY Adirondack Wilton Center, 696 Route 9, Wilton, NY 12831. The summer camps run from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm Monday through Friday during the weeks of July 9-13, July 16-20 and July 23-27 or August 6-10.
A certificate will be given to the student at the end of the program stating the class and number of hours volunteered. A letter of recommendation from the Summer Enrichment Faculty will also be available.
Student applications and recommendations are due to the Enrichment Resource Center by Friday, June 22, 2018. Students we are able to place in a class will be contacted.
