Ready to Learn Plan Goals1. Prioritize the safety and well-being of students and staff.
2. Prioritize the social, emotional, and academic development of our young people.
3. Provide a framework of supportive structures for each scenario while also providing for flexibility and creativity to respond to the unique needs of those we serve.
Two Options for StudentsOption 1: Flexible Learning
Attend school in the most appropriate instructional model based on current data and guidance.
Instructional models included in this option are:
1. Distance Learning 2.02. Limited Campus Hybrid3. Expanded Campus Hybrid4. In-Person Learning
Option 2: BC Online
Enroll in BC Online program with a minimum enrollment commitment of one academic quarter.
BC Online is a full-time virtual learning program. This option does not include any in-person instruction.
BCCS Commitments: Teaching and LearningAcross all instructional models, you can expect:
● Focus on relationships and connection● Prioritization of the most essential grade-level appropriate material● Responsive instruction based on unique needs of learners● High-quality instruction, support, assessment, and feedback ● Multiple opportunities for students to demonstrate mastery ● Full special education and English learner services for students who

Distance Learning 2.0School will be held virtually five days/week following our school
calendar with high-quality and engaging teacher-led instruction and/or support each day with Wednesday established as a day for student work
completion and individual check ins.
Safety Precautions:● School buildings are open to essential staff only● No students on site ● All staff complete daily health screening prior to entering school
building

Decisions about activities and athletics will be based on the rate of cases in our community.
Distance Learning 2.0: Family Supports● Childcare: Fee-based option available for school-age children.
● Food and Nutrition: Meals will be available for families through school bus delivery routes.
● Family Resource Rooms: Open by appointment for essential visitors. Limited to one family in the space at a time.
● Support and Resource Line: Staffed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. by school social and counseling team and community schools team.
● Technology support: Virtual support sessions with district technology staff available during regular school hours by appointment.
Limited Campus HybridSchool will be held each day with the majority of students off-campus.
While off-campus, students will engage in daily live virtual sessions with their teachers. Off-campus students will follow their distance
learning schedule.
A limited number of students will be on campus up to 4 days a week for in-person instruction. On-campus instruction will be limited to those
students in a setting III special education program.

day prior to arriving to school● Face coverings required for all ● School busses limited to 50% capacity● In-person instruction limited to students in setting-III special education
programs● Student cohorts strictly maintained with exposure to a significantly
limited number of building spaces throughout a day ● Hand hygiene taught, scheduled, and supported throughout the day● Classroom seating reconfigured to allow for maximum spacing
Limited Campus Hybrid: Student ExperienceLimited in-person cohort(s):● In-person learning with a small cohort of students in a level-III special
education program that focuses on individual learning plans of each student
● Students follow a customized schedule based on their individual needs● Students receive prioritized in-person instruction specific to their needs
and learning plans that is especially difficult to provide in the virtual classroom environment
● Virtual learning day mid-week
Limited Campus Hybrid: Student ExperienceOff-campus students:● Opportunities for live instruction for each class, with recorded videos that
can be viewed or reviewed asynchronously● Opportunities for independent practice, research, writing, and project
development throughout the week● Opportunities for collaboration, community, and relationship building with
peers● The pace of course completion will be maintained in order to keep students
on track to graduate● Dedicated time each week for one-on-one check-in with homeroom teacher● Dedicated office hours each week for drop in support with all teachers

Expanded Campus Hybrid
School will be held following our school calendar with high-quality and engaging teacher-led instruction and/or support each day.
To reduce the number of people in school buildings each day, two cohorts of students will attend in-person classes on opposite days.
Every effort will be made to place all students from one household in the same group.

BC Online
BC Online is a full-time virtual learning program specifically designed for BCCS students with instruction delivered by BCCS teachers.
This option does not include any in-person instruction.

BC Online: Enrollment Timeline
● BC Online is an opt-in program. Families will need to request this placement for individual students.
● Registration open through Friday, August 21● Daily class schedules and teacher assignments available Friday,
September 4● In order to maintain staffing levels, we ask that students commit to BC
Online for at least Quarter 1

○ Bi-weekly Hennepin County Case data○ Weekly case data disaggregated by city and zipcode○ Staffing thresholds○ Scenarios will be re-evaluated every 4-5 weeks○ If the data indicates need for a change in the learning scenario,
changes would be implemented 10 school days later● What can you expect from us and when?
○ A decision for the start of SY21 will be made during the week of August 10
○ This model will be re-evaluated on September 25; potential change in scenario would occur on October 12
