~In Our Thoughts & Prayers~ Homebound Parishioner of the Week

The following announcement comes from the Bishop’s Office: “Join Bishop Walkowiak for a Holy Hour offered for the healing of survivors of sexual abuse, reparation for the sins of clergy, and the restoration of hope for our Church.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 19 Time: 7 p.m.

Location: Cathedral of Saint Andrew For those who are unable to join us, the Holy Hour will be livestreamed at dioceseofgrandrapids.org and on the diocesan Facebook page.” Back a few months ago I informed you that Mary Bristol, who had been Business Manager for the Parish and All Saints Academy had retired and that I had hired Amy Kelley as the new Business Manager. I asked Amy just to briefly tell you about herself in the following: “Hello, my name is Amy Kelley and I am the new Busi-ness Manager for Blessed Sacrament Parish and All Saints Academy. My husband, Michael, and I have four children. Megan is a high school math teacher at Marian High School in South Bend. Shannon is a special edu-cation teacher at Rockford High School. Jacob is a sophomore at Hope College. Our youngest, Joe is a senior at Rockford High School. Our Catholic faith has been an important part of our lives, being active mem-bers of Our Lady of Consolation Parish for over 20 years. I enjoy time with family and friends, either gather-ing around a meal, taking walks along our beautiful na-ture trails or watching my kids’ activities. Thank you for the opportunity to serve all of you as your Business Manager.” Last week Fr. Charles Dautremont passed away. For some of you old-timers you might remember that Fr. Dautremont was the Associate Pastor here at Blessed Sacrament during the years of 1964-1970. His last assignment was as Pastor of St. Dominic Parish in Wyoming from which he had retired a couple of years ago. Over the years he and I had had some really good discussions about the finer points of Catholic theology. Please keep Fr. Dautremont in your prayers.

Elementary Open House Monday, September 10, 6:30-8:00 pm. Grades K-3 parents will be able to walk their child’s school schedule, learn about each class, ask ques-tions of teachers, and more! Would you like to give the gift of Catholic School Education? Many of our parish families struggle to afford Catholic school tuition. Some decide they simply can't afford it, even though they want to provide their children with the blessings that such an education provides. Now you can help. All Saints Academy's Tuition Angel program makes it pos-sible for you to donate to ASA, and direct your donation to help a young-ster learn and grow in God's word. Make a real difference in the life of a child. Please call 364-9453, or go to our web page at www.asagr.org./tuition-angel-program to learn how you can make a difference to-day...and for years to come. Support ASA with Amazon Smile! If you shop on Amazon, please con-sider using Amazon Smile (https://smile.amazon.com), and designating your support for All Saints Academy. With no other effort on your part, a portion of your purchases will be sent to ASA. Just remember to login to your Amazon Smile site each time you order - the prices are the same.
