At least 30,000* low-income students have earned a college degree with a 21 st Century Scholarship. More than 110,000 students are enrolled in the program today. * Estimate based on completion data since Indianas 21 st Century Scholars are more likely to: 1)Go to college than all Indiana students. 2)Be college ready than their low-income peers. 3)Complete college than their low-income peers. Program Milestones 4 The Scholar Population Scholars vs. all Indiana 8 th Graders 6 Scholars are 1.4 times more likely to be the first in their family to go to college. Scholars are more than 2.5 times more likely to be raised by single parents. Scholars family income was 75% lower than the average student who applies for financial aid. Scholars vs. all Indiana Financial Aid Filers 7 The Scholar Path to College More Scholars are enrolling, affirming their scholarship eligibility, filing a FAFSA and using their awards, but the challenge remains that Fewer Scholars retain eligibility as they move closer to college.
