Fists break out in Tulsa, Oklahoma
TULSA, Oklahoma, January 2nd 1983 Fist fly around Tulsa down the
street in a vacant lot near a park, at night in the North side of
town as the Greasers and Socs fight for the winning spot. The
Greasers, Ponyboy Curtis(14), Darry Curtis(20), Sodapop
Curtis(16),Twobit Mathews(18), Steve Randel(17) , Tim Shepard(18)

company, Dallas Winston(17), Brumbly boys and the leader
contribute to the fight for Johnny Cade (16) who is currently
hospitalized in a critical condition, as Paul and other Socs contr
ibuted for the deceased Bob. As 2
the fight is skin versus skin, no one wasexpectedtogethurt.

As Curtis P., Cade, and Winston save the children from the fire
a flaming wood fell on Cades back leaving him unconscious and
scorching burns with Curtis P. injured with Winston. Ponyboy All
started when Ponyboy Curtis and Cade were attacked in the park by
Socs from being with Cherry Valance and Marcia. As Curtis P. was
being drowned in a freezing fence in the fountain during the
4Winter, Cade took extreme measures and used his switch knife that
was hidden, as

Sheldon/Robert Sheldon. The two boys then ran away to Windrixville
to hide from the police who was scavenging Texas. Curtis P. and
Cade took shelter at an abandoned church which later catches on
fire as they changed their physical identification by
bleachingandcuttingtheirhair.
Curtis and Winston recovers with a week of recovery thus leading
to the rumble. Randle was found with three broken ribs, half of
Matthews face was oozing with blood, and Shepard had gotten a
broken nose. After the rumble Curtis P. and Winston visited Cade in
the hospital that then died. Winston also robbed and grocery store
from depression and then got shot by the police.January 29th 1983
Neighbor Sally Jennings stated that The Rumble was noisy as my
family couldnt sleep, though watching the fight was quite
entertaining.Others such as Bob Finkel The boys couldnt keep the
fight down, but it reminded me that the young men of these days had
changed into young animals.Cades neighbor, Keith McShallington was
interviewed, Uneasy noises were heard next door. The one that made
your skin turn pale. I believe Johnny is in a better home, but
being away from his friends which were like his family
mustbetearinghisheart.After the long rumble, the Greasers had won
because the Socs had backed down. Hopefully, this problem
willneverhappenagain.
