The ten day tour with the theme 'from mountains to sea' was flagged off by Prabhat Chandra Jha DIG CRPF along with Col D D Pandey CO 4RR, ASP Bhadarwah Rajinder Singh and CEO BDA Rajinder Kumar Khajuria from com- munity hall Kotli. Speaking on the occasion, A Padama Kumar CO CRPF 33 Battalion said that the tour under civic action pro- gramme is primarily aimed at to give exposure to the most deserving but under privelaged students living in mountains and for the pur- pose 15 students belonging to BPL families were drawn from different villages of Bhadarwah valley. "These students have never gone beyond Jammu and some of them are even mov- ing first time outside Bhadarwah. For these stu- dents, it's like a dream come true to move beyond hills to the coasts of Visakhapatnam," Padma Kumar added. After flagging off, while speaking to reporters, DIG CRPF, Prabhat Chandra Jha said that Visakhapatnam is the largest navy yard and our motive to take these underprivileged students there and other places including Delhi is to expose them the development India has made and also let them understand different cultures, so that they can also feel an urge to compete and reach there to be a part of developed India. STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: Former MLC Dr. Shehnaz Ganai wel- comed the inauguration of Jalandhar- Amargarh power project by the Prime Minister during his recent visit to J&K State. Interacting with media here she said that no doubt such power projects are pil- lar of development and they play a vital role in the development of area where they are built. She told that through this project the shortfalls of power in Valley be compensated. She said that Jalandhar-Amargarh project is inaugurated at Baramullah and its supply lines run through different districts. Samba is one of the dis- trict which is benefitted and being given Grid as well as Line in and Line out (LILO) facility, where- as Pir Panjal region is totally neglected. She showed her grave concern over neglecting whole Pir Panjaal region by the gov- ernment. Lamenting on such a cal- lous approach she said that the authorities have used the land of Pir Panjaal region for supply lines of this project, but the region has completely been deprived of the grid and LILO facility which is very unfortunate. She apprised that issue regarding con- sideration was raised many a times in state legislative council, state government, administrative secretary, then state power minister and also stands discussed by the delegation of Pir Panjaal legislators with the Prime Minister some two years back at New Delhi. Whereas after the assur- ance in the council and the delegation by the Prime Minister nothing has been done in this regard so far and now the project has started working. Former council member said that this clearly shows the step motherly treatment by the governments with this region. She has appealed to Governor to review this demand of Pir Panjaal pub- lic and write to center gov- ernment for provision of a grid and LILO facility in this region. Hardcore criminal detained under PSA STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: A hardcore criminal was detained under the strin- gent Public Safety Act (PSA) in Samba district on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Mohammad Irshad alias Shadu Son of Mohammad Saleem resident of Ward No 6 Telli Basti Bari Brahmana. According to a report, in order to curtail the activities of hardcore criminal namely Mohd Irshad who was involved in number of criminal activities and is a great threat to the life and liberty of the people of District Samba particularly Bari Brahmana area, a special team of Police Station Bari Brahmana headed by Inspr. Darshan Singh, SHO under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba and under the supervision of Sunil Kesar, SDPO Bari Brahmana arrested the said accused. The warrant of arrest under detention in PSA issued by DM Samba against the accused namely Mohd Irshad. The accused was absconding and was evading his arrest since the issuance of his warrant. STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: A wrong blood report of an pregnant woman has exposed the functioning of Govt hospitals in the state. In a case at Traumas Health Centre Ghagwal in District Samba, paramedical staff of the said hospital gave wrong blood report to the pregnant women whose last month was running. According to the sources, a pregnant woman went to said hospital to get her check up and gave blood sample in the labo- ratory for blood group. After collecting reports from the lab- oratory she noticed that para- medical staff of the said hospi- tal her report with A- blood group while she was of cognitive A + blood group. After news spreads, dozens of people went in Ghagwal Hospital and demanded rechecked the blood group and which later reported A + from an private Laboratory. Irked over ill-functioning of hospital staff people staged a protest against the doctors and paramedical staff. They alleged that neither entire staff of the doctors is there nor any facili- ties is available to the patients. Talking with State Times Correspondent , the husband of the woman said that the blood report was wrong, as well as the woman's name was also wrong- ly written in the report. Wrong blood report of pregnant woman exposes Govt hospital's functioning STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: Police Station Rajbagh sought public assistance to identify a male dead body presently kept in GMC Jammu. The deceased had fallen near Mala Dhaloti and received serious injuries. He was shifted to District Hospital Kathua and was further referred to GMC Jammu where he suc- cumbed to his injuries. The body of the deceased is kept at GMC Jammu. The deceased is wearing white Kurta Pyjama and black jackets. The approxi- mate age of the person is between 70-80 years and height around 5 feet 5 inches. Residents raised slogans against the department and blocked Samba Border road near Rakh Amb Talli for half an hour. They alleged that the PDD department installed an electric transformer in their village but due to some snag in transformer, residents are not getting proper voltage due to which they are suffering.
