    Planning an Event

Promote the event in your store calendar, newsletter, and/or local newspaper.

    Photocopy the reproducible activities.

Make arrangements to have crayons and pencils available for the event.

Its Event Day! Hang up the Go, Diego, Go! poster and display the Go, Diego, Go! books.

Start the event by gathering the kids into a group. Explain how Diego works with his friends

and uses his creativity to save animals all over the world. Tell the children that animals need to

be rescued in real life too, and use this as a segue to explain what endangered means and to

give examples of some endangered animals. Can the children think of ways they can help save

    endangered animals?

Distribute activity sheets to each child. Ask parents to help their children and to encourage creativity.

A Note to EducatorsGo, Diego, Go! is the perfect show to introduce children to the different animals that inhabit the world.

Here are some discussion questions that tie in well to the animal-centric focus of Go, Diego, Go!:

A lot of animals live in the jungle. Can you name some of them? What sounds do they make?

(For example, have kids growl when mentioning a jaguar)

Animals can live on land or in water. Can you name some animals that live on land, and others that

    live in the water?

Diego is always rescuing animals. What kinds of tools does he use when trying to help his animal

    friends? (e.g. rope, etc.)
