Upon the Driller’s instruction, assist setting the slips.

When drill collar clamp is in place, install pin and

tighten clamp properly.

STAND CLEAR while pump-through-lift-sub connection

is broken and Top Drive assembly is being raised.

Unchain tongs from A-LEG.

Latch back-up tongs onto drill collar in Rotary Table,

STAND CLEAR while lead tongs are latched onto

pump-through-sub.

Make the back-up tongs bite at the same time the

lead tongs bite; using the proper tong handles.

Keep the back-up tongs biting while the Driller breaks

the connection.

After Rotary Table stops, unlatch lead tongs.

Assist in stabbing pump-through-sub into drill collar in

Mouse Hole.

Place chain-tong on pump-through-lift-sub.

Make up pump-through-sub with chain-tongs.

Remove chain-tongs and STAND CLEAR while drill

collar is being raised from Mouse Hole.

Assist in stabbing the drill collar from Mouse Hole into

the drill collar in the Rotary Table.

Upon Driller instruction, and lead tongs are latched

onto drill collar in Rotary Table, latch make up tongs

onto top drill collar using proper tong handles, and

make tongs bite.

Upon Driller’s instruction, STAND CLEAR while

connection is being torqued.

Hold bottom set of tongs clear of Kelly.

STAND CLEAR while the Driller picks up on the Kelly.

Assist with stabbing Kelly into the joint in the Mouse

Hole

STAND CLEAR, with tongs, while Driller spins Kelly.

After the Kelly stops, latch back-up tongs onto Kelly.

Make the back-up tongs bite as the connection is

tightened, using the proper tong handles.

THE CONNECTION IS TIGHT

is being spun up.

After the Kelly joint stops spinning, remove excess

chain and latch the back-up tongs on Kelly joint, using

Know string weight, torque requirements, pump

pressure, drilling RPM, etc.

Fit for duty check on all Hands.

Verify that equipment has been inspected and is in

good working condition.

If necessary, blow horn to notify crew for connection.

READY FOR CONNECTION

Kick out Auto-Driller and drilling recorder, if required.

Unchain break handle.

Stop rotation of Top Drive.

If required, release back torque - SLOWLY.

When Top Drive comes to a complete stop, raise drill

string off bottom.

Depending upon hole condition, ream back to bottom,

if necessary.

WHEN TOOL JOINT IS AT PROPER POSITION (slip

setting position), kick out pumps.

Instruct Floor Hands to set slips.

Slack off on drill string, paying close attention to

weight indicator.

If slide drilling, insure Top Drive

brake is released before making

connection.

WATCH WEIGHT INDICATOR

FOR DRAG.

MAKE SURE the slips are set

properly.

DO NOT EXCEED TRAVELLING

BLOCK ASSEMBLY WEIGHT.

Close gripper around tool joint.

Engage torque boost to break connection 1/2 round.

Disengage torque boost after connection is broke.


REVERSE OUT WITH THE TOP DRIVE.

Release gripper.

Instruct Hands to watch lines and proper clearance of

Top Drive assembly in derrick during raising and

lowering procedures.

Raise travelling equipment and Top Drive out of joint in

rotary.

CONNECTION TO JOINT IN MOUSE HOLE - Using

pipe handler control, latch onto joint in Mouse Hole

with elevators.

Raise pipe out of Mouse Hole keeping pipe centered

using handler.

OR

RE-CHECK GAUGE FOR

TRAPPED PRESSURE.

MAKE SURE Top Drive

handler is properly locked.


Use low drum.

CONNECTION TO STAND IN DERRICK - Run Top

Drive assembly up derrick, while extending link tilts, to

designated point above monkey board for connection

onto stand in derrick.

Once elevators are latched by Derrickman, pick up

slowly with Top Drive while retracting extended link

tilts.

Pick up for proper positioning over tool joint in rotary

table.

Engage “Spin/Maintain”, then lower pipe into tool joint

in rotary.WATCH WEIGHT INDICATOR.

MAKE SURE employees are in

safe position.

Continue to slack off until joint is made up.

When Top Drive stops spinning, wait on proper

placement of lead tongs, then torque connection

properly.

DO NOT OVER-TORQUE.

MAKE SURE Hands are clear.Use Top Drive to raise drill string high enough to

release all torque before instructing Floor Hands to

pull slips.

MAKE SURE slips are pulled and Floor Hands are

clear, then open Top Drive Safety Valve (remote).

Engage the mud pump(s), at slow rate, and verify

returns.

IF MAKING PIPE UP IN MOUSE HOLE, DO NOT

RESUME DRILLING UNTIL MOUSE HOLE STAND IS

MADE UP AND ALL FLOOR HANDS ARE CLEAR.

Bring pump(s) and RPM up to proper speed.

Lower the drill sting and set proper weight on bit.

Chain the brake and engage drilling recorder.

Attach automatic Driller to break handle and engage.

Add joint/stand to pipe tally. Mark recorder as

needed.

Watch pressure gauge.

If required, refer to pipe

handling procedures.

If required. set PVT and Flow

Using pipe handler control, extend pump-thru-sub over

drill collar in Mouse Hole.

Lower sub into drill collar in Mouse Hole.

Instruct Floor Hands to make up pump-thru-sub with

chain tongs.

Pick up drill collar out of Mouse Hole keeping pipe

centered using handler.

Pick up for proper positioning over drill collar in rotary

table.

Lower drill collar to stab drill collar into drill collar in

rotary table.

Engage “Spin/Maintain”, then lower Top Drive into

pump-thru-sub.

Continue to slack off until drill collar and pump-thru-

sub is made up and torqued properly.

FOR COLLAR CONNECTION - When pump-thru-sub

is properly torqued, wait on proper placement of tongs,

then torque collar connection properly.

Use low drum.

REVERSING OUT WITH SPINNING CHAIN - After Back-up

Hand unlatches lead tongs, hold lead tongs clear of Kelly

while being reversed out.

AFTER KELLY STOPS TURNING, unlatch bottom set

of tongs.

Place and latch back-up tongs on Kelly saver sub.

Make the back up tongs bite, using the proper tongs

handles, while the Driller spins the Mouse Hole joint

into the Kelly

Place the lead tongs on the joint in the Mouse Hole.



THE MOUSE HOLE CONNECTION IS TIGHT

Latch the lead tongs onto the drill pipe in the Rotary

Unchain lead tongs from A-leg and place lead tongs

onto drill collar in Mouse Hole.
