Rotary Club of Magill Sunrise Page | 1 Well, we had a great committee get together at Tuesday’s meeting which I, for one, feel helps me and the other directors get a better idea of the thoughts of our members and where we should be heading. After another outstanding breakfast we all broke into our committees and went through the issues that are current within the club. From these discussions we had each director or committee representative get up and give the club a 2 minute overview of the topics they discussed. I myself sat in on the Visibility discussion and found they had some very good ideas and thoughts (one seen at the bottom of this report). I really value these meetings as it gives all a chance to input into events and issues that affect the club every day so hope to have at least another one before the midyear. We do have a few events coming up in the next few months on top of the monthly Shed BBQ and Market so I hope to see as many members helping out or attending these events as possible. First up, we have our evening meeting with partners on the 26 th February at Cafe VaBene. We will be hearing from Wally Gradara from Ballast Stone Winery and hopefully having a small tasting as well so it should be a fun night. Next up is the Canteen Fun Day we have sponsored on March 17 th . We will be organizing a sausage sizzle for the day and also helping the people from Canteen with the fun and games they are holding. This event will be at Nightingale Park and promises to be an amazing day for some special kids. Our club is holding an Italian Night on the 13 th April at the Campbelltown Councils Function Centre. It promises to be a night of food, wine and fun so start planning your tables now. Family and friends are more than welcome, more details to follow in the next few weeks. Lastly, even though it is a few months away we will again be holding our Reel Event Film Night. Pamela and her team are putting together what sounds to be an amazing night so put Wednesday 29 th May into your calendar. Enough from me....have a great week everybody!! Greg Next Week’s Speaker: Malcolm Patterson from the Theatre Organ Society at the Capri theatre.

Well, we had a great committee get together at Tuesday’s meeting which I, for one, feel helps me and the

other directors get a better idea of the thoughts of our members and where we should be heading. After

another outstanding breakfast we all broke into our committees and went through the issues that are

current within the club. From these discussions we had each director or committee representative get up

and give the club a 2 minute overview of the topics they discussed. I myself sat in on the Visibility discussion

and found they had some very good ideas and thoughts (one seen at the bottom of this report).

I really value these meetings as it gives all a chance to input into events and issues that affect the club every

day so hope to have at least another one before the midyear.

We do have a few events coming up in the next few months on top of the monthly Shed BBQ and Market so

I hope to see as many members helping out or attending these events as possible. First up, we have our

evening meeting with partners on the 26th

February at Cafe VaBene. We will be hearing from Wally

Gradara from Ballast Stone Winery and hopefully having a small tasting as well so it should be a fun night.

Next up is the Canteen Fun Day we have sponsored on March 17th

. We will be organizing a sausage sizzle for

the day and also helping the people from Canteen with the fun and games they are holding. This event will

be at Nightingale Park and promises to be an amazing day for some special kids.

Our club is holding an Italian Night on the 13th

April at the Campbelltown Councils Function Centre. It

promises to be a night of food, wine and fun so start planning your tables now. Family and friends are more

than welcome, more details to follow in the next few weeks.

Lastly, even though it is a few months away we will again be holding our Reel Event Film Night. Pamela and

her team are putting together what sounds to be an amazing night so put Wednesday 29th

Thought for the Day 1: Every man is a damn fool for at least five minutes every day; wisdom

consists in not exceeding the limit.

Thought for the Day 2: Ham and eggs: A day’s work for a chicken, a lifetime commitment for a pig.

• Lindsay- going up to the badges and asking 'who am I'.

• The Carman's- buying a new car.

• Greg for splitting his trousers and then promptly wearing them the next day to

work.

• Kevin for calling the president's table the 'naughty ones'.

• Anyone who couldn't seem to find the plates for breakfast!
