We Dedicate this 24th Annual Scramble Golf Tournament
to the Memory of Sean F. Tibbetts
Sean Tibbetts died at the age of 41 on Feb-
ruary 23 of this year after a long and coura-
geous battle with cancer. Sean was a grad-
uate of Brockton High School and was at-
tending Bridgewater State University. He
was a life long resident of Brockton and
has worked for 12 years for Computershare
in Canton. He was stationed in Korea with
the U.S. Army and worked as a civilian in
the CIA in Virginia and at the Pentagon.
He was a life long member of the First
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brockton
and a member of the Davis School PTA.
He was an avid Patriot and Bruins fan and
enjoyed running and spending
time with his children and fam-
ily. Sean was a strong support-
er of the work that the church
did for those in need within the
community and for his life and
witness we say “Thanks be to
God.”

The committee would like to extend its thanks to Church/Financial Secretary, Paula M. Fedele for her
assistance with mailings, record keeping and other work in making this tournament a success.
First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brockton was organized on April 30, 1867 as the
First Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Bridgewater. Founded by Swedish immi-
grants, the church was the first religious institution in New England established by Scandinavi-
ans. As the demographics of Brockton have changed over the years, First Lutheran has become
a regional church, drawing membership from a radius of approximately 35 miles. An anchor in
the neighborhood for over 140 years the parish today provides social services and outreach to
the local community through the Fruth Center and Hilston Gymnasium, providing space for
substance abuse support groups, the Food for Friends Food Pantry, Brockton Youth Hockey
Bingo and other community groups.
We invite you to attend Sunday services at 7:45 & 9 am and encourage you to visit our
website, www.firstevlutheran.org, often to see other opportunities of which to avail yourself.
