DONNA HARAWAY – THE CYBORG• “A cyborg is a cybernetic organism, a hybrid of machine and organism, a creature

from fiction.”

• Taking Haraway’s definition of the cyborg and applying it to those who have

prosthetic limbs. Focusing on how the cyborg phenomenon is changing human

perspective by looking through a machine’s eyes.

MACHINE VISION – THE CYBORG’S

PERSPECTIVE• Becoming a cyborg and ultimately separating

from the “human” world.

• Negatives and Positives

• Different reality for those that now have a more

intimate relationship with machines.

• Machines wanting to be human? Again?

feet.

We “leave our bodies and see

the world through a machine’s

viewpoint”.
