Personal Goals Hobbies

A little about me is that I am a 14 years old named Joshua Meza, a single child, and I love to play soccer. My favorite soccer team is FC Barcelona, and my favorite international soccer team is Germany. One other item that highly describes me is that I love to vacation, especially to the Caribbean. At this age I must think of where I may consider going to college, but I prefer to stay local and go to college in Redlands or locally. I do play video games in my free time as a hobby, but my favorite game ever to play is FIFA 15.

About my background is that I am part Honduran, Mexican, and born in the United States. I was born in Redlands Community Hospital on May 28, 2001 and currently live in Loma Linda. My mother’s name is Teresa, and she was born in Redlands Community Hospital as well. My father’s name is Jose and is from Honduras, he then moved to the U.S. I also have a dog named Maya that is a German Shepard that is 2 years old. I am, fortunate for me, a single child for all of my life.

I have been playing soccer since I was 10 years old, and I have not stopped yet. My family has been fortunate enough to travel to many places and countries, such as this year going on a cruise. I am also a religious person that is part of the Roman Catholic Church.

Plans that I have for the future that involve going to college, or my second choice playing professional soccer. My choices for choosing a college are slim because I barely think about college as a 9th grader. When I do go to college I hope to go to a college this is very local, so Cal State San Bernardino and the University of Redlands are choices. The University of Redlands is a good school for wanting to becoming a teacher.

Then my second choice for a job is to be on the men’s national team for the U.S. To play for the U.S. team is a long shot because I have practiced for many years, and think if I continue playing I could make it. Players on the team make about $67,000 by playing in the World Cup. Not only playing would be great, but just being on the team would be enough for me.

Goals that I hope to accomplish that do not involve academics or a job involve climbing Mt. Gorgonio and going to Jamaica. Climbing Mt. Gorgonio has always been a goal of mine, because I want to climb the highest place in Southern California. Standing at 11.503 feet, Mt. Gorgonio is the only major challenge I want to defeat as the youngest person in my family. The trail I would prefer to climb Mt. Gorgonio would be Vivian Creek Trail which is 7.8 miles long.

One other personal goal I hope to achieve is to travel to Jamaica once again. I traveled to Jamaica by a cruise this past summer, and it was so beautiful and fun that I want to go again. Montego Bay was such a beautiful lush city, but I only got to stay there for 6 hours. The residents of Jamaica are so friendly and nice, and reggae is the best music there.

Of the hobbies that I like to do, playing soccer, playing FIFA 15 on my Xbox 360, and vacationing are my favorite. Soccer may be my favorite hobby because I have played it for many years, and its hard to get over it. FIFA 15 is my second favorite hobby because I have played FIFA games almost as long as I have played soccer. And my last hobby is not quite a hobby, but I enjoy vacationing annually.

My all time favorite hobby of all time is playing soccer. My position that I play are mainly forward, some defense, and barely any goalie. I have played soccer for 5 years now, but I played 4 years in AYSO. I started playing AYSO when I was 10, but only scored 5 goals.1 year later, my spring and fall team won the championship of our region. With those two seasons combined, I scored over 30 goals.
