Steve Ray is an exemplary educator. He is a skilled mentor and a creative designer of curriculum

who has an ability to excite and enthuse children, parents and the wider community

As a teacher Steve was, and is, simply remarkable. His teaching skills are firmly underpinned by a deep respect

for each child in their own right (he knew each of several hundred children personally), holds a strong belief

that every child can develop and improve, and maintains a firm resolve that positive (fun based) encouragement

is the only useful motivator.

After 32 years Steve is still the architect and leader of the Primary Schools Dance event. He researches,

writes, choreographs, rehearses, and records all the dances and music for this nationally acclaimed event in which

thousands of primary students have been participating in annually since 1982.
