Adding and Editing a Horizontal Navigation Bar

1. In editing mode, go to the dropdown “Open More Actions menu (m)” (looks like a wheel) at the top of

the page and select “Edit site layout.”

2. Hover your cursor just below your site’s banner until a black box appears that says “Edit horizontal

navigation” and click in the gray space.

3. A “Configure navigation” pop-up box appears.

4. Click the blue “Add page” text below the box and another pop-up box appears with all the pages on your

site. (You can also highlight and double-click existing horizontal bar items to edit them in this step.)

5. Use the scroll bar to find the page you want to put on the navigation bar and click on its title so it’s

highlighted in yellow and shows in red text.

6. Click the “OK” button at the bottom.

7. The page you selected should appear in a blue bar in the “Configure navigation” box.

8. At the bottom of the box, select the style (boxes, tabs, links) that you want to use. (All horizontal bar

items must use the same style.)

9. Click the “OK” button at the bottom. The new horizontal navigation box, tab, or link will appear on your

Web page below the banner.

10. To add more page links to the horizontal bar, repeat steps 2-9 for each page. (You can also add them all

at once before clicking the “OK” button in step 9.)

11. Use the up and down arrows beside the list of pages in the “Configure navigation” box to change the

left-to-right order in which your box, tab, or link appears in the horizontal navigation bar.

12. Use the left and right arrows if you want to make any page appear as a subpage under another “main”

horizontal navigation page. It will then appear in a dropdown list under that main page.

13. The “Configure navigation” box also has an option to add a URL or e-mail address to the horizontal bar

by clicking “Add URL” instead of “Add page.” In the pop-up box that appears, enter the name of the

URL or email in the “Text to display” field and the Web site or e-mail you want that text to link to in the

“URL or email” field. Mark the box with a check beside “Open this link in a new window” if you

would like that to happen when someone clicks on this item. (Recommended if you’re directing them to

an outside site.) Click “OK.”
