Siscowet Lake Trout About this fishAdult Size Range: 42 - 150 cm (16.5 - 59.1 in)
Habitat: The siscowet is a deep-water form of lake trout usually found at depths greater than 300 feet and only found in Lake Superior. Siscowet are the most abundant predator in Lake Superior.
Fun Fish Fact: “Unlike their svelte kin (namely lean lake trout), obesity is a natural state for siscowets. Siscowets’ tendency to develop more body fat (40-70 percent) than lean lake trout (about 10 percent) is natural and not a source of concern.” Siscowet Trout, A Plague of Riches, by Sharon Moen
