Affiliate Membership in theHampton Roads REALTORS® Association

Join up and then join in!Make your membership in the Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association (HRRA) work for you. Our most successful Affiliate members tend to be those who get involved. They believe in actively networking to make their businesses grow. Following is a list of ways we can help you to do just that. (Many of these activities are offered to our members free of charge!)

HRRA’s membership consists of more than 4,000 REALTORS®, affiliates and others. Each REALTOR® member is a potential customer and a source of referral for your business. Our publications and event marketing reach professionals involved and interested in Southside Hampton Roads’ real estate industry.

Please note: HRRA Affiliate membership does not include affiliation with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) or Virginia REALTORS® (VR); a separate membership applies for each.

Networking Opportunities: We provide plenty of networking opportunities bringing together REALTORS® and Affiliates in a social atmosphere to get to know each other, exchange business cards, and have fun. A few examples of HRRA activities planned throughout the year include the Circle of Excellencesm Awards Gala, the Chili Cook-Off & Tailgate Party, the Wine & Cheese Social, and the Annual REALTORS® vs. Affiliates Kickball Tournament.

There is also an Affiliate arm of our charity outreach group, “REALTORS® Have a Heart” known as “Affiliates Have a Heart for REALTORS®.” Together, these HRRA members have done remarkable service projects around Hampton Roads. The rewards for volunteering with your industry peers are great!

Membership means OPPORTUNITIES

Affiliates Council: This council meets monthly to discuss ways to bring more value to their membership, as well as ideas for greater networking and visibility with REALTOR® members. This council is led by associates who, like you, are focused on the real estate industry as their customer base. The Affiliates Council also has a representative on the HRRA Board of Directors.

You are encouraged to join any of HRRA’s councils and committees, and attend their meetings and/or forums, where you get to know REALTORS® in an intimate yet professional atmosphere. The councils meet specific needs of specialty areas of real estate. They are an excellent networking opportunity as well as a valuable learning experience.

Exposure: If growing your business depends on exposure to the real estate community, then HRRA is the right place for you. We offer a variety of ways to wisely and effectively utilize your promotional dollar. Many of these opportunities are available at significant discounts for HRRA members. You can choose specific programs, media and events to sponsor a la carte, or put together a custom package that will ensure you stay in front of our REALTOR® members all year. Awards: In appreciation for your participation and support, every year HRRA recognizes one Affiliate Member Company and one individual Affiliate Member who shine above all others in commitment and service. These prestigious awards are given at the annual Installation Luncheon in December.

The Hampton Roads REALTOR® Magazine: Our monthly magazine, mailed out to every member of HRRA, provides full-color advertising space. Articles, press releases, event photos and other news items are always welcome; our editor will work with you to get your message out. Design services are also available for a fee; let HRRA’s award-winning Creative Department craft your ad!

Mailing Lists: Only HRRA members can purchase HRRA mailing lists. These lists can be customized to fit your direct mail needs, and purchased for specific Councils or groups (such as Circle of Excellencesm recipients). We also offer discounts on mailing lists for sponsors when used to promote an event.

Government Affairs: We have one of the strongest lobbying efforts in the state. With paid lobbyists on staff, an active government affairs committee, and a political action committee, HRRA ensures that real estate interests are being protected from unnecessary regulation and burdensome taxation. Get involved and see for yourself the legislative victories we produce on the local and state level.
