All About April April 1—April Fool’s Day April 22—Earth Day April 23-30—Passover Flower of the Month– Daisy Though April can sometimes be a rainy, dreary month, its showers are said to bring forth flowers—such as the daisy, the flower of April. The English daisy opens each day with the rising sun and closes again at night, leading to the belief that its name comes from the phrase “day’s eye.” Birthstone of the Month—Diamond Diamonds have long been heralded as the symbol of innocence and constancy, and they are said to ensure love and harmony. It’s no wonder, then, that diamonds are used as the centerpiece for the major-ity of engagement rings. According to tradition, how-ever, a diamond will only bestow these powers when it has been given freely from one person to another. With such wonderful qualities, it’s easy to understand why diamonds would be anyone’s best friend. Bird of the Month—Black capped Chickadee As the name suggests, this small songbird has a black cap and bib, along with puffy white cheeks and a gray back and tail. Its curiosity about people and everything else in its territory plus its quickness to discover bird feeders make it one of the first birds most people learn.

Earth Day

The Red Hatter’s will be in house this month on March 19th in the Bridlewood Retreat. There is a cost associated with some of these events, which the resident would pay for through their trust fund account.

Grumpy Old Men’s Club will be going to the Olive Garden to enjoy lunch with soup or salad on March 12th. Saturday’s in the Evergreen Dining Room at 2:00pm! 6-8 games divided into two ses-sions. 25cents per card, per round. Come out and play! The Corner Store—every Thursday at 2:00pm in the Atrium. Volunteers from the Estate will be selling items such as, chocolate bars, candy, trinkets, toothbrushes, and much more! The Residents’ Association is a forum to receive and share informa-tion relevant to residents living in the Midnapore community. It is in-tended to improve quality of life by having discussions between those who live here and administration.

The third Tuesday of the month (September – May) in the Board-room from 10:30am to 11:30am. There are regular members identi-fied on the neighbourhood notice boards, however, anyone can at-tend.

You can express your concerns to members, notify the Social Worker at 403-873-2617 or attend in person. No personal health care issues are discussed. The group discussion is to problem solve issues related to the home.
