• The ASEAN Member States agreed to use the existing mechanism, such as the KnowledgeHubs (www.apwf-knowledgehubs.net), a network of the Asia Pacific Knowledge Forum (APWF) which was launched during the 2008 Singapore International Water Week

• During the 10th Meeting of the ASEAN Working Group on Water Resources Management (AWGWRM) held on 5-6 July 2010, the Philippines presented the different APWF Knowledge Hubs. The Philippines was requested to share a summary of available information to the AMS.

• The Philippines submitted the summary of information on the APWF Knowledge Hubs to the ASEAN Secretariat for dissemination to the ASEAN Member States.

• It is noted that APWF's KnowledgeHubs facilitates regional knowledge networking among the hubs and their clients and partners. All water organizations in the region are encouraged to join the hubs' knowledge networks

• Organizations can become hubs through a peer-review process that considers the relevance of their proposed topic, expertise, leadership and capacity in their knowledge domain.

Establishment of a Consortium on Urban Subsurface Environment Management in Asia.

• This proposal is an offshoot on the Research project of the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN) of Japan that assess the human impacts on urban subsurface( groundwater) environment in 7 metropolitan areas in Asia such as: Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila. Osaka, Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo.

• For Metro Manila, Philippines inadequacy of data was a major concern making analysis difficult and groundwater modelling not possible.

• To form a Consortium in the Philippines initially for Metro Manila composed of multi-sectoral groups to facilitate cooperation, collaboration and effective communication.
