The MarketThe imposed import ban on food has led to a steady increase of domestic food production in Russia. International manufacturer of agricultural, food and packaging machines are not affected by the import ban so that they benefit from increased investments of Russian manufacturers in the moderni-zation of their facilities, especially for crop, meat and milk processing.
According to GTAI Russia is in demand of packaging machinery as people are looking more and more for safely packed food. Also, the government is planning to impose an environmental fee if manufacturers do not recycle their packaging. This, in turn, will lead to a growing demand for sustainable packaging.
The results of a survey among German manufacturers conducted by the German Russian Chamber of Industry and Commerce showed that 50% of the companies expect a bigger growth in the field of food and agriculture and see a rising tendency of the longterm importance of the Russian market for their company.
The ExhibitionAgroProdMash is the meeting point for manufacturers and dealers of food and packaging machinery as well as ingredients and additives since 1996. At the last exhibition, 366 companies took part showcasing their machinery and equipment in 19 halls to more than 10,000 business professionals.
As in the past years, German manufacturers will be exhibiting at a joint Ger-man stand at this year’s „Meat Industry“, the co-located exhibition to Agro-ProdMash.
