AIR NOSTRUM’S AIM IS TO BUILT UP A SPANISH AVIATION NETWORK THAT NOT ONLY FAVOURSECONOMICAL DEVELOPMENT, BUT ALSO TERRITORIAL STRUCTURING

he role played by secondary airports in the Spanish AENA Airport Networkis, from time to time, a top of discussion. Detractors of the present

aeronautical map model allege that, from an economical point of view,secondary airports are considered inefficient and should be closed down,diverting their passengers to the nearest large city airport. If this was the case,the airport installations of Leon, La Rioja and Burgos would never have beenbuilt and others such as San Sebastian and Murcia would, I am afraid to say,no longer exist.

Those in favour of the present model, however, would argue that eventhough it is true that some secondary airports show a deficit on their profitand loss account, from a macroeconomic point of view the investmentreturn - multiplied several times - is more than acceptable according to theareas of influence.The position of the regional aviation company that I preside is quite clear inthis respect: airports should be tools of social cohesion and territorialaccessibility. These are the factors, and not others, that should be used whentargeting objectives. However, those defending the aviation sector monetarismtheory believe that most network airports are just an immense cost centrewhose main aim is to be come a flourishing business, without taking intoconsideration that the wealth of an airport is not estimated by the amountof airport taxes it collects. The prosperity generated by commercial aviationis actually based on the thousands of jobs it creates, the construction ofmodern infrastructures and sustainable, ongoing improvements in passengerand asset mobility, considered a fundamental aim of the Lisbon Agenda.AIR NOSTRUM has, since its inauguration over fifteen years ago, beenresponsible for inaugurating the majority of AENA’s new airports. This is

not coincidence; it is vocation, a wager on territorial integration, connectingpeople and places and, of course, regional structuring. That is why ourendeavour with regard to secondary national airport development is asstrong as it was the day we launched our first flight.Meanwhile, the first regular international flight will be taking off from theHondarribia Airport on 25th July, 2010. This new flight service will connectGuipuzcoa with northern Europe for the first time in over two decades. TheSan Sebastian-Brussels flight route, included in our summer high seasontimetable, and the new flight services connecting San Sebastian and Vitoriawith Palma de Mallorca and Bilbao with Jerez, Dubrovnik and Rome, willcontinue to provide passengers with flights up to 5th September, 2010. These 6 new flight routes reinforce the 9 regular annual flight servicesoperating from the Basque Country’s three airports, where passengers willalso find flight services from Bilbao to Funchal and Minorca respectively.Any one of these flight services can be used as an example of how avaried and complementary flight offer between three closely locatedregional airports can – and should – successfully coexist.A large part of Europe’s prosperity has been built on the availabilityof airports in medium and small sized cities. Our aim is to continueworking on the development of an efficient aviation network that willcover both domestic and middle-distance markets, a network thatwill allow Spain to equal Europe, favouring economical developmentand territorial structuring.Thank you for flying with AIR NOSTRUM. Los detractores del modelo actual alegan que, hablando entérminos de rentabilidad económica, los considerados como secundariosson focos de ineficiencia y deberían ser clausurados para derivar a suspasajeros al aeropuerto más cercano de una gran ciudad próxima.Siguiendo estas teorías nunca se hubiesen abierto las instalaciones de León,La Rioja o Burgos y se tendrían que cerrar otras como las de San Sebastiáno Murcia. Los partidarios del presente esquema argumentan que, si bien escierto que algunos aeropuertos de la red secundaria son deficitarios ensus cuentas de resultados, en términos de rentabilidad macroeconó-mica está sobradamente acreditado el retorno de la inversión –multi-plicada por varias cifras– en el entorno de sus áreas de influencia. La compañía que presido tiene una postura muy clara a este respecto:los aeropuertos deben ser instrumentos de cohesión social y accesibi-lidad territorial. Ésos y no otros deben ser sus verdaderos objetivos.Los escasos defensores de las teorías monetaristas aplicadas al entornoaéreo piensan que la mayor parte de los aeropuertos de la red soninmensos centros de costes que habría que convertir en florecientesnegocios, sin reparar en que la riqueza de los aeropuertos no se cifraen la recaudación de las tasas. La prosperidad que la aviación comer-cial genera a su alrededor se mide en los miles de puestos de trabajode nueva creación, en la generación de modernas infraestructuras y enla mejora permanente de la movilidad de las personas y bienes, unode los objetivos fundamentales de la Agenda de Lisboa. Desde su fundación, hace ya más de quince años, nuestra compañía ha inau-gurado la práctica totalidad de los nuevos aeropuertos de la red de AENA, yeso no es casualidad… es vocación; AIR NOSTRUM apuesta por integrarterritorios, comunicar personas y vertebrar regiones. Unas propuestas que conjugan el disfrute de la naturaleza, el conocimiento del patri-monio y de la historia y las singularidades culturales de esta región presentadas desde unaperspectiva que despierta el interés de los más pequeños y les permite aprender y disfrutarjugando. Activities such as becoming a bandit fora day whilst visiting the caves located at the source of the River Mundo, visiting oneof the largest wind parks in the world in the locality of Higueruela or stopping off atthe Interpretation Centre for Peace in the provincial capital of the same name, a popularschool visiting place. Visitors might also like to make a cycling tour of the locality ofAlcala del Jucar or choose a fancy dress costume for the Villarrobledo Carnival.

the Enchanted Forest of the Cabañeros National Park or the possibility to imitate, fora few hours, Don Quijote by climbing up the Cerro de los Molinos (Hill of theWindmills) in Campo de Criptana to get a closer look as the spectacular windmill“giants”. CON OTRA MIRADALas sugerencias en la provincia de Albacete harán soñar a los más pequeños. Desde

convertirse en bandoleros por un día para visitar las Cuevas en el Nacimiento del RíoMundo, a conocer uno de los parques eólicos más grandes del mundo ubicado en lalocalidad de Higueruela, o conocer el Centro de Interpretación para la Paz en la capital dela provincia, un espacio que también es visitado por numerosos colegios en sus salidasescolares. Otra recomendación es conocer a golpe de pedal la localidad de Alcalá del Júcaro elegir el mejor disfraz para unirse a la fiesta continua que se vive en Villarrobledo paracelebrar el Carnaval.

DIVERSIÓN INTENSACiudad Real también promete intensas aventuras. Pasar un fin de semana en el bosque

encantado que es el Parque Nacional de Cabañeros, o convertirse por unas horas en DonQuijote para encaramarse al Cerro de los Molinos en Campo de Criptana y ver de cerca aestos impresionantes “gigantes”.

También les resultará irresistible buscar el tesoro que esconde el Parque Minero deAlmadén, donde se viaja en vagonetas y se baja a cincuenta metros de profundidad; oconvertirse en un malvado pirata mientras se recorren las Lagunas de Ruidera, un auténticooasis en Castilla-La Mancha. En el Corral de Comedias de Almagro, único en el mundoque se conserva como hace 400 años, podrán disfrutar de representaciones del Siglo deOro, a las que casi a diario también acuden muchos escolares de la región.

NATURALEZA Y COSMOSComo si de Buzz Lightyear se tratara, en Cuenca capital podrán viajar hasta el infinito y

más allá, pero sentados en las butacas del Planetario de su Museo de las Ciencias. O vivircomo trogloditas en el Parque Cultural de Arte Rupestre que hay en las localidades deVillar del Humo y Henarejos. Y, en esta provincia, una auténtica sorpresa: ver a ososde verdad en la Reserva Natural de El Hosquillo, donde viven en semilibertad. También enplena naturaleza podrán conocer unos agujeros gigantes que casi llegan al fondo de latierra, y que se conocen como torcas; o descubrir a los personajes que jalonan la Ruta delas Caras en Buendía.

SECRETOS AL DESCUBIERTOGuadalajara también guarda un montón de secretos, como un paraje natural en el que

jugar al escondite toda la familia, llamado Hayedo de Tejera Negra. En esta tierra de castillos,por donde pasó el Cid dejando su nombre al castillo de Jadraque, podrán armarse caballerosen su patio de armas; y para quienes gustan de la pesca, en el pueblo de Ocentejo puedenlanzar su caña y seguro que alguna trucha pica. En Sigüenza, cuna del famoso Doncel,podrán jugar a mosqueteros en sus calles; o vivir una trepidante aventura en el ParqueNatural del Alto Tajo, uno de los rincones naturales más extraordinarios de la región.

DE TODO, PARA TODOSLa provincia de Toledo tampoco defraudará a los más pequeños. En ella podrán jugar a

los romanos en la localidad de Carranque, donde se halla un parque arqueológico en elque les enseñarán a hacer mosaicos como los que cubrían los suelos de sus casas. En lacapital podrán subirse al Zocotrén y recorrer la ciudad para disfrutar de sus intrincadascalles y su gran patrimonio sin cansarse. Otra propuesta es conocer los secretos deDulcinea, la amada de Don Quijote, en la localidad de El Toboso; o descubrir la magiade las aceitunas en el Museo del Aceite de Mora. Para conjugar el monte y el agua, nadamejor que una escapada hasta la Sierra de San Vicente, donde también se encuentra elpantano de Cazalegas, casi una playa en La Mancha.

Sin duda, una guía pensada para que toda la familia pueda divertirse y gozar deexperiencias extraordinarias en lugares que, a ojos de los niños, resultarán mágicos.

will be able to enjoy theatrical representations dating back to the Siglo de Oro (GoldenEra). This famous theatre also receives numerous regular school visits.

NATURE AND THE COSMOSJust like the cartoon character Buzz Lightyear, visitors will be able, during a visit to

Cuenca, capital of the province of the same name, to travel to the infinite and evenfurther whilst sitting comfortably in their seats at the Planetarium, housed in theScience Museum or live like a troglodyte during a visit to the cave art cultural centresin the localities of Villar del Humo and Henarejos. These will, we are sure, be pleasantlysurprised to see real live brown bears in the El Hosquillo Nature Reserve, living insemi-captivity. Another nature trip worth mentioning is the one to the giant holes,giving the impression of going right down to the bottom of the earth, known as“torcas”. We would also suggest visitors look out for the characters on the Las CarasRoute in Buendia.

OPEN SECRETSGuadalajara has a number of open secrets such as the nature area where the entire

family is invited to play hide-and-seek in the beautiful Tejera Negra Beech Grove. Inthis land of castles, once visited by El Cid whose name can still be found at theJadraque Castle, visitors are invited to arm themselves as knights in the Arms Square.For those who enjoy fishing, we would suggest a visit to the village of Ocentejo wherethey will be sure to catch a trout or two. In Sigüenza, cradle of the famous ‘Doncel’,visitors might like to play at musketeers in its ancient streets; or live an action-packedadventure in the Alto Tajo Nature Park, one of the most extraordinary nature areas inCastilla-La Mancha.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONENeither will the province of Toledo disappoint the younger family members. Here,

they will be able to play at Romans in the locality of Carranque with its archaeologicalcentre where youngsters can learn to create the same kind of mosaics found in ancientRoman homes. During a visit to Toledo, the capital of the province, these might like totake a ride on the Zocotren (tourist train) and tour the city, enjoying its maze ofcharming narrow streets and splendid patrimony in comfort. Another option is todiscover the secrets of Dulcinea, Don Quijote’s true love, in the locality of El Toboso; orthe magic of the olives in the Mora Olive Oil Museum. Finally, for those interested incombining mountains and water sports, we would suggest they might like to take a tripto the Sierra of San Vicente, home of the magnificent beach-like Cazalegas Reservoir.

A sus recién cumplidos 24 años se puede decir que Sergio Rodríguez es un trotamundos del basket. Tras destacar en España en el Estudiantes inició su aventuraamericana en el 2006 habiendo estado en Porland, Sacramento y New York, y vuelve este año para iniciar la temporada con el Real Madrid. Con la selección nacional hacosechado numerosos títulos, y con el Real Madrid espera poder conseguir muchos más.

Sergio Rodriguez has recently celebrated his twenty-fourth birthday and could be described as a true basketball globetrotter. In 2006, following hisexcellent trajectory in the Spanish Estudiantes Basketball Team, Sergio began his North American adventure, playing in Portland, Sacramento andNew York. He has returned to Spain this year to play with the Real Madrid Basketball Team. He has, amongst other things, shared numerous victorieswith the Spanish National Basketball Team and hopes to have a lot more with the Real Madrid team.

What is the difference between Spanish basketball and the NBA?NBA basketball is much more physical and the type of competition is also different.In Spain, each victory counts, more so than in the NBA. The North AmericanBasketball League programmes 82 games a season. At the end of the season, itis the players’ stamina and physical condition that are of prime importance.You are back in Spain to play with Real Madrid. Do you think that the ACB ison a par with the North American Basketball League?The world’s best basketball players play in the NBA. However, there are lotsof players in the ACB that are good enough to play in the NBA. It is a highlycompetitive and attractive place to play.What have you learnt during the time you spent in the NBA?I have, over the past four years, matured both physically and mentally. No sólo los artistas flamencos tienen su espacio en bienal. Si algo hace grande alflamenco es su capacidad de relacionarse con otras artes, la habilidad de todos sus artistaspara influir y ser influidos por otras músicas, otras danzas y otros lenguajes, lo enriquecey lo magnifica. Así, la XVI Bienal de Flamenco ofrece también la oportunidad de disfrutarde una serie de espectáculos protagonizados por artistas flamencos que trabajan conartistas de otras disciplinas, que se han acercado o se han dejado invadir por el flamenco,y por artistas y grupos que, no teniendo nada que ver con la música flamenca, se veninfluidos por ella. The XVI Biennial Flamenco Festival also includes anumber of up-and-coming solo artists, young artists who are not normally found at thetop of the flamenco circuit programmes, artists who bring with them a breath of freshair. The introduction of new talent has been one of the fundamental challenges of thefestival since it was inaugurated thirty years ago. The series of concerts “El flamencoque viene” (The flamenco to come) will, this year, include over twenty up-and-comingartists.

The XVI Flamenco Biennial Festival is not, however, only about flamenco. One of thegreatest things about this type of music is its ability to relate to other styles of music.Its artists also have the ability to influence, and be influenced by, other types of music,other types of dancing and other types of musical language, in an enriching andmagnifying way. As such, the festival offers visitors the opportunity of enjoying a seriesof shows starring flamenco artists who work with artists that have either becomeinterested in or have found themselves seduced by flamenco, and artists and groupswho, having nothing in common with flamenco music, have somehow fallen under itsspell. Under the title, “Flamencos y otras aves” (Flamingos and other birds), the RocioJurado Auditorium will be hosting two unique and unrepeatable concerts. The first willstar Los Chichos, Peret and Kiko Veneno and the second Raimundo Amador, RemediosAmaya and La Mala.

As visitors get closer,however, numerous populated areas can be distinguishedalong with the marks left behind by the multiple humanactivities taken place here. The first vestiges of humanactivity in the Serra de Tramuntana actually date back somefive thousand years. ice la tradición popular que el viento del norte, conocido en los territorios de hablacatalana como la "tramuntana", ejerce una particular influencia sobre dos condiciones

emocionales como son el seny (el sentido común) y el geni (el temperamento). Desde tiempos ancestrales, el sentido común ha gobernado la actividad humana en el

entorno de la Serra de Tramuntana. Esta alineación montañosa toma el nombre del vientodel norte y transcurre paralela a la costa noroeste de Mallorca, a lo largo de cerca de 90 kiló-metros, con diferencias de altura que van desde el nivel del mar hasta los 1.445 metros de sumayor cota: el Puig Major. Por debajo de este pico, hasta 54 cimas, entre principales y secun-darias, sobrepasan los 1.000 metros.

Los rigores del clima y las dificultades del terreno llevaron a los sucesivos pobladoresde la Serra de Tramuntana a idear ingeniosas técnicas para su subsistencia. Por ejemplo,durante la época islámica se implantaron sistemas hidráulicos de captación y distribuciónde agua para regadío, y se abancalaron las laderas de las montañas para ganar terrenosagrícolas. El cultivo del olivo y la vid florecieron a partir de la colonización catalana. Y estemodelo agrícola tradicional perduró hasta nuestros días, como lo prueba la visión deliciosadel paisaje de laderas que descienden escalonadamente hacia el mar, con sus bancalessalpicados de olivos centenarios.

Pero la humanización parcial de estos parajes montañosos no ha restado belleza y espec-tacularidad a su geografía. Acantilados, gargantas, calas, barrancos, peñascos y valles,fascinaron a los pintores modernistas. Santiago Rusiñol, Joaquim Mir, Hermen Anglada iCamarasa, y tantos otros, desplegaron su genio tratando de plasmar en sus pinturas losefectos de la intensa y cambiante luz del día sobre el paisaje. La serra sugestionó también aescritores, músicos y poetas, hasta tal punto que más de uno decidió quedarse a vivir. RobertGraves escribía a propósito de ello: "Ésta es una tierra salvaje, el país que he escogido conásperos riscos y amplios yermos desnudos...".

De igual modo, el aprovechamiento sostenible de los recursos naturales por los suce-sivos pobladores de la Serra de Tramuntana contribuyó a la conservación de los diferenteshábitats (encinares, pinares, garrigas o ecosistemas marinos) y de sus especies vegetales yanimales. Una buena parte de ellas son endémicas y han atraído la atención de naturalistasnacionales y extranjeros; como el ferreret, un sapo diminuto descubierto para la zoologíaen 1980. Este pequeño anfibio ya era conocido por los habitantes de la serra, que lo llamaron

of human behaviour: “seny” (common sense) and “geni” (temperament).From ancient times, common sense has governed human activity in the Serra de

Tramuntana. This mountain range is named after the previously-mentioned north windand is situated on a parallel with the beautiful northeast coast of the island of Majorca.It is approximately 90 kilometres long with mountain peaks ranging from sea level to1,445 metres, the latter being the height of its highest mountain, the Puig Major.A total of 54 main and secondary peaks can be found here with heights of over 1,000metres.

The harsh climate and rough terrain inspired its successive settlers to inventingenious techniques to subsist. For example, during the Moslem period, the mountainsides were turned into terraced farmland with efficient irrigation systems introducedto increase production. Olive groves and vineyards were introduced during the Catalancolonization. The Serra de Tramuntana’s traditional agricultural model has lasted upto the present day, with terraced mountainside farmland, housing centennial olivetrees, descending down towards the sea.

The partial cultivation of the Serra de Tramuntana’s mountainsides has, in no way,affected the beauty of its spectacular geography. In fact, its cliffs, narrow passes, coves,gullies, crags and valleys have fascinated numerous modernist painters includingSantiago Ruxiñol, Joaquim Mir, Hermen Anglada i Camarasa and many others whoput their genius to a test when trying to capture the effects of the intense and changinglight of its splendid natural scenery. La incorporación de la Serra de Tramuntana a la red de rutas para senderistasde gran recorrido contribuye también al mantenimiento de estas obras de estos arquitectosanónimos. El itinerario GR-221, conocido como "Ruta de Piedra en Seco", discurre porantiguos caminos de montaña a lo largo de 135 kilómetros y ocho etapas, enlazando unextremo de la serra, el Port d'Andratx, con su opuesto en Pollença. Los aficionados a lascarreras de campo a través pueden completarlo en menos de 24 horas participando en elUltra-Trail que se celebra cada año. Y también, los profesionales del ciclismo de montaña ylos cicloturistas hallarán aquí un itinerario variado, donde los tramos llanos alternan condesniveles notables y con puertos de montaña.

Cada uno de sus 19 municipios merece una visita, pero los núcleos urbanos de Estellencs,Banyalbufar, Valldemossa, Deià, Sóller, Fornalutx, Lluc o Pollença son los más pintorescos yfrecuentados por los turistas, porque la carretera que los enlaza, la Ma-10, ofrece unas vistasextraordinarias sobre la costa norte mallorquina. Además, su recorrido está jalonado devestigios históricos que dejan entrever un pasado de aislamiento y de encadenamientode civilizaciones, sobrevenidas en ocasiones de forma dramática y otras sin apenas ruido.Así nos lo recuerdan las torres de defensa medievales, las posesiones, los monasterios,las iglesias, los restos de poblados talayóticos, los castillos roqueros y algún palacio de ladinastía del reino de Mallorca.

La proposición de inscripción de la Serra de Tramuntana en la categoría de "paisajecultural" del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO, impulsada por el Consell de Mallorca, esun ejemplo de la progresiva conciencia sobre la necesidad de salvaguardar y valorar estepatrimonio frente a la homogeneización que trae consigo la cultura tecnológica.

Para la UNESCO, los sitios declarados Patrimonio de la Humanidad deben contar conun plan de acción que garantice la conservación del lugar y que los beneficios derivadosde la declaración reviertan directamente en la población local. Ajustándose a estas direc-trices, el Consell de Mallorca ha diseñado un futuro plan de gestión, que ha contado conuna importante participación de entidades sociales y culturales de la comarca. El plan estra-tégico realizado se basa en el desarrollo económico y sostenible de la serra, ligado a larecuperación del paisaje cultural; la educación y divulgación de los valores de la serra;la protección y restauración de su patrimonio, y la gestión y el control de la afluencia devisitantes, para minimizar su impacto y asegurar la conservación.

One of the most revealing revelations of human intervention in the Serra deTramuntana is the dry stone architecture. This technique, used in a large part of theMediterranean, is characterised by the presence of a load-bearing façade of carefully-selected interlocking stones. On an anecdotic note, the incorporation of the Serra deTramuntana in the ‘Gran Recorrido’ (Long Distance) Hiking Trail Network has greatlycontributed to the maintenance of these stone buildings. The GR-221 Route, knownas the ‘Ruta de Piedra en Seco’ (Dry Stone Route), winds it way along ancientmountain paths for some 135 kilometres. It is divided into 8 different stages andconnects Port d’Andratx with Pollença. Cross-country running fans taking part in theannual Ultra-Trail Race normally complete the entire route in less than 24 hours.Professional mountain cyclists and bicycle tourists will find here an excellent rangeof itineraries with flat areas alternating with mountain slopes and passes.

Although, each of the Serra de Tramuntana’s 19 municipalities are worth a visit,the towns of Estellencs, Banyalbufar, Valldemossa, Deia, Soller, Fornalutx, Lluc andPollença stand out as the most popular tourist sights thanks to the Ma-10 roadand its extraordinary views of the northern coast of Majorca and numerous historicremains that provide an idea of the area’s isolated past and different ancientinhabitants, some more famous than others. The ‘Consell de Mallorca’ (Majorca Regional Government) proposal to inscribe theSerra de Tramuntana in the “Cultural Landscape” category of the UNESCO World SitePatrimony is an example of this regional government’s awareness of the need tosafeguard its patrimony from the homogenisation brought about by technology.

According to the UNESCO, World Heritage Sites should be equipped with a plan toguarantee their conservation. Any benefits derived from their status as a culturallandscape should revert directly back to the local inhabitants. In accordance, theRegional Government of Majorca has created a strategy plan with the participation ofimportant regional social and cultural entities. This strategy plan is based on theeconomical and sustainable development of the Serra de Tramuntana in conjunctionwith the recovery of the cultural landscape; the education and divulgation of the valuesattributed to the Serra de Tramuntana; the protection and restoration of its patrimonyand the management and control of the affluence of visitors in order to minimizeadverse environmental impact whilst guaranteeing its conservation.

En elperiodo comprendido entre el 23 de julio y el 5 de septiembre –lo que sedenomina subtemporada de agosto– la aerolínea inaugurará 2 nuevas rutasvacacionales que unirán Valencia con Jerez y Lanzarote, al tiempo que semantendrán, tras el éxito cosechado en 2009, los enlaces internacionales conDubrovnick, Marrakech y Funchal. De igual modo, este año se recuperala conexión con Extremadura. Desde el 1 de julio se operaran 2 vuelos sema-nales con Badajoz. Estas rutas se suman a las regulares que la compañíaopera desde Valencia y Alicante.

AIR NOSTRUM connects the Comunidad Valenciana with 33 flightdestinations this summer, located in 11 Spanish regions and 4 Europeanand North African countries. During the summer high season from 25thJuly to 5th September, 2010, Spain’s leading regional aviation company willbe introducing two new holiday flight routes between Valencia and Jerezand Lanzarote respectively, whilst maintaining, thanks to their exceptionalsuccess, the international summer flight routes to Dubrovnik, Marrakechand Funchal. At the same time, the Company has reintroduced its flightconnection with Extremadura. As of 1st July, 2010, AIR NOSTRUM will beoffering two weekly flights to Badajoz in addition to the flight destinationsincluded in its regular flight network from Valencia and Alicante.

ESTE VERANO, EL PATRIMONIO DE CASTILLA Y LEÓNABRE POR VACACIONES

A través del programa de apertura de monumentos, Abrimos en Verano,Castilla y León expone su patrimonio al disfrute de todos. En el Caminode Santiago Francés, desde el 12 de junio al 26 de septiembre, más de150 templos estarán disponibles para que pueda contemplarse el arte y lahistoria de esta senda milenaria, declarada Bien Patrimonio de la Humanidadpor la Unesco.

Y por toda Castilla y León, se podrá disfrutar del arte románico, el artemudéjar, de las pequeñas iglesias en el campo o de los grandes templos enla ciudad, del 10 de julio al 12 septiembre –periodo en el que permaneceránabiertos más de 300 monumentos–. El programa se desarrolla a través de12 rutas específicas que abarcan las zonas monumentales más destacadasde Castilla y León.

THE MONUMENTAL PATRIMONY OF CASTILLA Y LEON OPENSITS DOORS TO THE PUBLIC THIS SUMMER

The ‘Apertura de Monumentos, abrimos en verano’ (MonumentOpenings, We Open in Summer), Castilla y Leon opens the doors of itsmonumental patrimony to the public in general. From 12th June to 26thSeptember, 2010, over 150 temples will be open to the public locatedalong the French Route of the Way of St. James where visitors will beable to contemplate the art and history of this millennial pilgrim route,declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.

From 10th July to 12th September, 2010, visitors to Castilla y Leonwill find here an excellent variety of Romanesque style art, Mudejarstyle art, small country churches and large city churches. Over 300monumental buildings will be open to the public during this period. Thisinteresting tourist programme includes 12 specific tourist routes thatinclude the Castilla y Leon’s most important monumental areas.
