Cheyenne Regional Medical Center August 2011 — PresentPatient Financial / Billing Leader

My current role as HB charge entry billing Lead, I work with a team of gals who bill Medicare, Medicaid as well as I work all commercial insurance billing. By reviewing claims, medical records and charges that are rejected by our clearing house and correcting them to retrieve payment for services. I also lead the gals in finding solutions to our billing problems as well as finding ways to make claims submission function properly. I have worked with denial reports and appeal claims as I see fit, Requested and posted refund checks in systems as needed. When needed I've worked as a team with the reimbursement coordinator to prepare refund packets for manager approval in legacy system. I have extensive knowledge in insurance follow up, payment posting, UB claims billing, claim edit and claim Auditing, DSG clearing house, EPIC claims, denial reason codes, customer service. With claims, I find myself constantly working with HIM (Medical Records) and or coding to review accounts for processing, as well as after a denial is received. In the last 5+ years with this Organization; I have accumulated an extensive amount of knowledge in all different areas of the Patient financial Service department, Medical Records, as well as coding. I may not hold a coding degree but I thrive on the knowledge I have accrued over the years.

Shortly after starting as a temp in April, CRPG Bariatric accepted me as a full time employee. My responsibilities were spread out due to my fast learning abilities and connection/communication with the patients, as well as my desire to advance in the organization and my passion for what I do. I answered phones to schedule appointments and assist patients with any questions or concerns necessary.Worked closely with insurance companies to insure patient coverage was correctKept close contact with physicians, psychologist, to keep charts prepared and occasionally took vitals, and roomed patients for doctors to tend to. Hired on as a temp through Express Professional. HIM medical records needed temps to clean up, review, and scan their back log. As a team we prepared patient records, scanned, indexed and filed. I assisted in the delivery and pick up of patient charts from floors in the main Hospital. I was and still am very passionate about the values and support the HIPPA policy.

DT Stucco & Plastering January 2007 — May 2009Assistant Manager / Payroll clerk

In my time working for DT Stucco and Plastering I took on many duties including the following: Answering phones, set appointments for bids, looked over employed staff to make sure they we're exceeding the expectations of the customers. I filed paper work, which included contracts, applications, and interviewed employees upon hire. Being in charge of ordering our products and materials from different companies as well as working on payroll runs for the week’s pay.

Main duties were related to beauty merchandise and were my customer service skills were parallel to my being named senior beauty adviser. Duties included advising customers with cosmetic questions, references to fragrances, make-up, and clothing. I stocked, faced, and sold all merchandise throughout the store as well.
