All-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV: PureTech PETROL ENGINE TECHNOLOGY
Peugeot 3008 | 10
Compact Engine – Huge Spirit Award winning Peugeot PureTech is advanced 3-cylinder petrol engine technology that offers a drive and performance normally associated with much bigger engines but with significantly improved fuel consumption and CO emissions. Due to the extremely high tech nature of PureTech 3 cylinder petrol engine technology, 121 patents were filed during the development process. For the second year running PureTech technology was awarded the hugely impressive accolade of ‘International Engine of the Year’ award for the 1.0l -1.4l category with a panel of 65 industry experts from 31 countries coming to the unanimous decision.
• “The new PureTech engine from PSA is a revelation in terms of refinement, performance and efficiency,” stated German journalist
Thomas Imhof. • “Without turbo lag, this three-cylinder gives a lot of power and perfect torque at very low revs, with a harmonious noise
throughout the whole range. And the consumption is very low,” agreed L’Automobile Magazine’s Christophe Congrega.
All-new Peugeot 3008 SUV coupled with PureTech engine technology boasts the following headline figures: • CO from just 117g/km! (£30 annual road tax charge). • BIK from just 20%! (using 2016/17 rates this would cost a 20% tax payer just £72 per month).
What the UK press say……. “You might think that a diddy 1.2-litre lump has no place in a five- seat family wagon, but the 129bhp motor is more than up to the task.” 2017 Peugeot 3008 1.2 PureTech UK Autocar review 14TH November 2016

Advanced Grip Control®: (Optional on all versions)
To allow you to take on a variety of weather and terrains, all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV can be specified with Advanced Grip Control®, a system designed to optimise traction
in low-grip conditions. It adapts to the terrain by acting on the front wheels, in doing so this saves the weight normally associated with a more conventional four wheel drive
system. Advanced Grip Control® offers the driver a choice of five driving modes, accessed via a rotary dial on the centre console. Designed to work in conjunction with all
engines and transmissions, Advanced Grip Control® is optional across the all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV range. In addition the system also incorporates a new Hill Assist
Descent Control (HADC) for the first time, this optimises vehicle control on steep slopes.
ESP Off:
Enables the disconnecting of the dynamic stability control (ESP) and
traction aids (ASR/Grip Control), up to 31mph (50 km/h) to give the
driver complete autonomy. These systems are automatically
reconnected above this speed for safety.
Normal Mode:
Calibrated system with a low, fixed level of wheel spin based on a
compromise between the different types of grip generally encountered
in normal day to day driving.
Snow Mode:
The system adapts to the grip conditions encountered by each wheel
when starting. When advancing, the system optimises wheel spin to
guarantee the best acceleration based on the available traction.
Recommended in cases of deep snow and steep inclines.
Mud Mode:
This mode authorises a lot of wheel spin at start-up for the wheel with
the least grip, this removes mud and re-establishes traction.
Meanwhile, the wheel with the most grip is provided with the most
torque possible.
Sand Mode:
This mode allows a small amount of simultaneous wheel spin on the
two drive wheels, enabling the vehicle to advance and reduce the risk
of sinking.
Hill Assist Descent Control (HADC): (Optional on all versions, included with Advanced Grip Control®:)
Designed to assist with the descent of steep slopes, Hill Assist Descent Control is incorporated as part of the Advanced Grip Control® system. When descending a slope with a
gradient of more than 5% and with vehicle speed below 19mph the system will work to reduce the risk of slipping. During a descent the system maintains speed and brake
control, allowing the driver to concentrate on the vehicles path of travel during the manoeuvre. A clever feature incorporated within the Hill Assist Descent Control system is our
unique 'Clutch Mode' security function. Selecting this function for very steep slopes regulates the vehicle speed to 2mph (3km/h), this allows the vehicle to creep down a steep
slope in a completely controlled manner.
All-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV: SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES GLOSSARY
Peugeot 3008 | 21
Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEBS): (Standard on all versions) An intelligent autonomous braking system
designed to avoid a collision or limit its severity by reducing the vehicle's speed. The system is triggered if the driver does
not react quickly enough, by activating the vehicle's brakes. A multifunction camera located at the top of the windscreen
coupled with a front bumper mounted radar are able to detect obstructions on the road.
The system is able to detect vehicles that are moving in the same direction (up to National Speed Limit), or are at a stop (up
to 50mph), together with pedestrians in the road (up to 37mph).
Active Blind Spot Detection (ABSD): (Standard from Allure onwards) Using lateral ultrasound sensors to cover areas out of
your field of vision along with the windscreen mounted camera, an LED illuminates in either side door mirror to alert to the
presence of a car, lorry, motorbike or bicycle in your blind spot. The system works when overtaking a slower vehicle or
when overtaken by a faster vehicle. This intelligent feature operates from speeds as low as 8mph right up to the National
Speed Limit.
ABSD also features a trajectory correction system in partnership with Active Lane Keeping Assistance. The trajectory
correction is applied to the steering if a line is crossed even when the turn indicator is enabled, to try and avoid a collision
with an obstacle not detected by the driver.
Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop (ACC Stop)*: (Standard on GT models) Controlled via a radar mounted at the front of
the vehicle with a range of up to 150 metres, the ACC Stop system provides two key functions:
• Automatic maintenance of the vehicles speed, at the value set by the driver.
• Automatic maintenance of a set distance between new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV and the vehicle in front, slowing the
vehicle to a stop if required.
The system detects a vehicle driving in front in the same direction and can automatically adapt the vehicle's speed to that
of the vehicle in front. This occurs using engine braking and the braking system (in which case the brake lights are lit) to
maintain a constant distance. If the vehicle in front has slowed to a stop, new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV will also be brought to a
stop by the ACC Stop system, if after this no response is received from the driver, the electric parking brake is automatically
applied. The system can be activated from speeds of 18mph upwards.
*Available on EAT6 transmissions only (excludes 1.2l PureTech 130 EAT6 S&S)
All-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV: SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES GLOSSARY
Peugeot 3008 | 22
Distance Alert System: (Standard on all versions) Working in conjunction with AEBS, the distance alert function warns the
driver if the vehicle risks a collision with the vehicle in front or a pedestrian in the road. Two levels of warning are available,
the first 'Amber' warning provides a visual alert to the potential risk. In a more a severe instance a 'Red' visual and audible
alert indicate a collision is imminent and driver action is required, failure to act triggers the AEBS system.
Driver Attention Alert 1 (DAA1): (standard on Active models) it is important to take frequent breaks when travelling over
long distances, to better guarantee your safety and the safety of those around you. All new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV feature a
timed alert system that operates at speeds in excess of 40mph, after two hours of driving a message is displayed
recommending that you take a break.
Driver Attention Alert 3 (DAA3): (standard from Allure onwards) controlled by a camera at the top of the windscreen
designed to analyse the vehicles trajectory, this active system evaluates the vigilance of the driver at speeds of over
40mph.
By identifying deviations relative to the road markings all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV is able to determine whether the
vehicle's behaviour reflects a certain degree of driver drowsiness or inattention. If it is felt that the driver needs to take
better care on the road a visual and audible alert will occur. If more than three instances occur, the driver will be advised to
take a break.
Lane Departure Warning: (standard on Active models) a system that monitors continuous and discontinuous lines and
warns the driver if a longitudinal lane marking on the ground is accidentally crossed. If steering deviation is detected, you
are alerted by a flashing indicator on the digital instrument panel and an audible signal in the cabin.
Lane Keeping Assistance (Active system) : (standard from Allure onwards) in addition to visually and audibly alerting the
driver, all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV also features LKA. As soon as the system identifies a risk of accidentally crossing one
of the marking lines detected on the ground, the steering is gradually corrected to keep the vehicle in lane, at speeds of
over 40mph.

can be used manually (dedicated SOS button on the console) or automatically (if pyrotechnic devices are deployed). It
locates the vehicle precisely and triggers the sending of the appropriate emergency services for a rapid response.
Peugeot are the pioneers of this technology, since launching in 2003 Peugeot Connect SOS & Assistance has assisted over
7,000 individuals. The system is subscription free with no additional charges and uses a GPS module and SIM card (built in
to the system).
PEUGEOT Smartbeam Assistance: (Standard from Allure onwards) Linked to the Safety Plus Pack, PEUGEOT Smartbeam
Assistance gives you one less thing to think about when driving at night. Controlled via a windscreen mounted camera, the
system continuously analyses driving conditions, for instance the proximity of other vehicles.
PEUGEOT Smartbeam Assistance automatically switches headlights to full beam when conditions allow, allowing you to
tap into the full potential of the full LED headlights* that offer uniform lighting to reduce eye fatigue, increasing driver
comfort.

feature a ‘standard’ design bumper . GT Line & GT feature a sculpted ‘sports’ front bumper with a PEUGEOT signature ‘tooth’ cutting into the headlight design.
Headlight Design and Technology: • Active & Allure models
feature a slightly less sculpted headlight with halogen technology. GT Line & GT feature additional sculpting along the bottom edge and striking full LED technology.
Front Grille Design: • Active & Allure models

The benefits of LED….. • LED lights consume very little energy, 50% less than halogen lights and 35% less than xenon lights. • LED lights improve safety by offering excellent vision at night, the light is more similar to daylight therefore
reducing eye fatigue. • LED lights are ‘tourist compliant’ and therefore require no adjustment when driving abroad. • LED lights are expected to last for the life of the vehicle • GT Line & GT models also feature LED sequential scrolling indicators and fog lights
Additional Features • Front parking sensors
(standard from Allure) • Front parking camera
(optional as part of Visio Park 2). Combine with rear camera to give 360° view.
• LED daytime running lights as standard on all versions.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems • All-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV boasts class leading levels of driver assistance features across the range controlled
via a windscreen mounted multifunction camera and bumper mounted radar. • Features controlled via these devices include, automatic emergency braking and active lane keep assist.
Roof: Offering a number of exciting and useful features including….. • Black Diamond Roof: Provides a sharp contrast on sports versions, that extends down the cars A-pillars, this
feature is also available on some other vehicles including the Range Rover Evoque. Whilst it comes as standard on 3008 SUV GT Line and GT versions, this feature commands a £500 premium on an Evoque.

• Aluminium Longitudinal Roof Bars: Standard on GT versions, as well as been a practical addition these also enforce the SUV nature of the vehicle.
It’s All In The Detail…… Sharp in its overall design, all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV makes a big impression but there are also a few smaller details both stylish and practical that really standout, here are three of our favourites… • Stainless Steel Roof Arch Trim: Starting from the bottom of the a-pillar and leading to the edge of the spoiler to
give the car a beautifully edged silhouette like no other. • Door mirror mounted LED 'PEUGEOT Lion' approach lights: Standard on GT Line & GT, these welcome lights
project onto the ground either side of the vehicle when unlocking/opening a door. Leaving passers by in no doubt over the identity of your SUV.
• Contrasting Door Sill Finishers: Located at the bottom of each door, the trim provides a seal under the sill when closed, this results in perfectly clean sills when entering/exiting the vehicle, removing the risk of dirtying trouser leg backs when exiting a higher riding vehicle.

• Combined with the extra length the rake of the windscreen helps to give the car a more dynamic ‘crouching’ appearance than before.
• Dark tinted windows from Allure upwards also add to the sports SUV style.
Alloy Wheels • Standard on all
versions. • Sizes range from 17” up
to 19”. • All versions (except GT)

design language, all-new 3008 SUV really does establish itself in the C-SUV market with its unique style.

this builds to give the car a very strong shoulder. Best appreciated from the rear ¾ this strong shoulder line helps to give the car a very sure footed
and planted stance, unlike any other competitor in the C-SUV market.

WHEN DID PRODUCTION OF THE CURRENT 3008 END & HOW MANY WERE SOLD IN THE UK?
In Europe, at the end of September 2016, over 80,000 3008 Crossover were sold here in the UK.
WHEN WILL A NEW PEUGEOT 3008 SUV HYBRID BE LAUNCHED?
The new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV is part of the Group's PHEV (Plug In Hybrid) project which will start in 2019.
WHY HAS THE TWO PIECE TAILGATE DESIGN BEEN REMOVED?
Mainly to reduce weight. For customers who want to keep this type of function, we suggest the very original two-position sliding floor. There are also
cost benefits to the consumer in terms of insurance group rating reductions, repair times at the rear have been drastically reduced by moving to a
standard 1 piece tailgate design.
WHY WAS THE HEAD UP DISPLAY ON THE TRANSPARENT INSTRUMENT PANEL STOPPED?
The Peugeot i-Cockpit head up instrument panel puts all information needed for driving as close as possible to the road, like the head up instrument
panel, except that the information is more complete and more visible.
ISN'T THERE GOING TO BE A 4X4 VERSION?
No traditional mechanical 4x4 (polluting and heavy), however, the traction advantages are maintained with Advanced Grip Control. In the UK, the market
leading Qashqai saw sales of just 1.8% as 4x4 derivatives, UK consumers want the look but not the associated cost of a 4x4.
WHY ARE WE NOT OFFERING ANY MORE POWERFUL ENGINES THAN 180BHP?
The C SUV market above 180BHP is very limited. The PHEV technology allows us once again to offer both more efficient and more environmentally
friendly versions.
1.2L PURETECH 130BHP ENGINE: ISN’T IT A LITTLE SMALL FOR A CAR THIS SIZE?
Adaptation is already very efficient on the current 3008. With 100 Kg less on average than the previous generation, the PureTech 3 cylinder turbo engine
(award winner 2015 & 2016) is a perfect match, try it for yourself!
To quote CarBuyer, all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV is a “deeply impressive SUV”, in an increasingly fought C-SUV segment, all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV provides a welcome addition to the class. Taking the strengths of the outgoing car including practicality and efficiency, 3008 SUV has built on these with sharp SUV style and the most striking interior of any car in the segment. Despite not offering ‘traditional 4x4’ technology all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV provides exactly what most UK buyers want, the look and feel of an SUV but without the associated running costs and that is why it has been hailed as “class leading” by so many UK publications.
Key Points:
• Sharp SUV design unlike anything else in the segment. Stand out from the crowd.
• Fantastic new PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®, unrivalled in the segment, awarded WhatCar technology award 2017.
• Configurable 12.3" head-up digital instrument panel on every version in the range.
• Outstanding levels of efficiency, CO2 from just 103g/km.
• Class leading levels of standard driver assistance features across the range.
• A wealth of standard specification across all trim levels.
• Takes perceived quality levels to a new dimension in the class.
• Amongst the class best for practicality both in terms of cabin and boot space.
• A host of awards already surround all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV including: CarBuyer ‘Car of the Year 2017’, CarBuyer ‘Best SUV of the Year 2017’, CarBuyer ‘Best Medium SUV of the Year 2017’, WhatCar ‘Technology Award 2017’, Fleet World Honours ‘Best Crossover 2017’, Inside Lane ‘Family Car Of The Year 2016’, WhatCar Safety Award ‘Commended 2017’, International Engine of the Year 2016 ‘1.0L -1.4L Category’
When taking all of the above into consideration, it really is apparent how all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV embraces the core PEUGEOT brand pillar of Uncompromising Quality, with its sheer breadth of talents in all the key areas that define an uncompromised vehicle.
