This was the most commonly looked up Morning Break Item, so I broke it out to its own page... this house went on the

market after the owner passed away, and it was so incredible that it was in the local news. I looked it up on John L

Scott, and went to the website that was on the news story... its pretty amazing!

Pressed cobblestone driveway and doorstoop. Sidewalks are aggregate.

The house is a well-maintained tri-level home with a pleasant decor. The upper level has 3 bedrooms plus a full

bathroom. The kitchen, 2 dining areas, living room and fireplace are in the middle level. The family room and 2 car

garage with 1/2 bathroom are in one lower level. A bathroom with shower and a large pantry in the other lower level

(this level can be locked off as part of the Subterranean Fortress or as part of the house so that pantry and bathroom

are just as accessible during peacetime as well as disaster).

Living Room

The backyard is fully fenced with maintenance free vinyl fencing on a cement footing. A garden and large boulder

decorate the yard. Outdoor storage is to the side of the house.

The house appears to fit right in with the other well kept homes and responsible neighbors. It is within walking distance

of a good school and 1st class park.

It swings into the fortified underground pantry, which is easily accessed from above, or from below...

Once inside the pantry, this sliding shelf hides a secret entrance to the Subterranean Fortress.

Several independent ventilation systems keep the air fresh. Excellent lighting creates an unexpectedly cheerful

atmosphere in this below ground world.

All walls, ceilings and floors include 14" to 40" of heavily steel reinforced concrete. In every case more steel than

necessary has been used to make this Subterranean Fortress as secure as possible. It is engineered to handle a nuclear

explosion as close as 2.5 miles, yet is strategically located where there are no probable targets in the area. The largepantry is protected with a minimum of 12" of steel reinforced concrete on all sides including the door. All cement

surfaces are finished off with several layers of epoxy paint, which is radiation resistant, washes easily and lasts

practically forever.

The completely camouflaged below ground Base Room is 40' Long, 9' High, 12' Wide

(See that square hole in the middle of the floor? More about that later.)

All walls, doors and locks are designed to keep intruders out.

Secret passageways and compartments may be used to hide valuables, papers, food, etc. Some may be used as

alternate access to other rooms or to the outside.

A heavy duty generator has its own sound buffering room and ventilation system. A bank of batteries, a charger and

EMP Proof Computer Room

The Subterranean Fortress literally goes down 4 stories deep. Because of the depth and the thickness of the cement the

computer room is Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) wave proof.

You are looking down through the elevator shaft (That square hole I mentioned above.) from the floor of the first

subterranean level through all four stories (almost 40 feet) of the Subterranean Fortress. My mom is looking up from

the third level.

The black circle she is standing on is a blast ceiling for the fourth

and final subterranean level.

Use the stairs or a small, one person elevator to take supplies/equipment to the lowest level, which is close to 40 feet

below the surface. The lowest level has a minimum of 24" of steel reinforced concrete and multiple blast ceilings -- it is
