Installation of NBU Master, media and client Server. Upgrading the servers from Netbackup lower to higher version. Create and monitor maintenance/backup/optimization jobs. Daily monitor Backup/Job Failure and resolve it with proper justifications. Tape drive configuration in UNIX. Adding and removing clients as requested by customers. Performing all kind of restores from tapes. Configuring Tape drives, robots, volume pool & volume groups. Upgrading the firmware of tape libraries, tape drives and VTLs. Creating backup policies, modification and scheduling of backups. Restored Systems/servers while Disasters (Disaster Recovery). Provide Production Support as per defined SLA. Working on decommission of media Servers. Performing RCA (Root cause analysis) of Failures. Used Remote desktop connection to resolve production issues. Work with Hardware and Media Management team for hardware and tape support. Work with vendors like HP, Symantec and Quantum to open service tickets to resolve issues. Work as a team member with the global team to give support to Backup environment. Creating Change request for any kind of changes on servers. Attending the change management and incident management calls. Work with System Administrators from various teams. Ensuring 24 x 7 x 365 availability of the backup environment. Working with the associated vendors as needed.
Nature of Job :
Maintaining Backup and Storage Unit (Media Tape Management) for backups and restora-tion.
Troubleshooting on various error codes and alerts generated. Troubleshooting the incidents alerts pertaining to backup environments. Using Service Now (ticketing system). Performing security practices & monitoring system logs and reporting the incidents back to
the concerned team for required actionable. Monitoring backups, media management, customizing backup policies, tape expiration and
generating reports of all clients in the NetBackup environment.
