To Our Foreign Customers: Arrangements pertaining to purchases must be made prior

to the sale with each individual consignor.

From the desk at T-Bar... A competitive nature is a necessary requirement for any business or industry to grow and thrive. Augustas Green Jacket, Lord Stanleys Cup, the Earl of Greys Cup and the Super Bowl are revered as sports ultimate accomplishments, whether the competitor was the winner or the runner-up. In our industry, the Royal Winter Fair, Canadian Western Agribition and the National Western Stock Show are the ultimate show venues for success in seed stock competition and with success, comes financial reward, in addition to worldwide recognition. Now, to vie for honors at these events or regional shows, one must have a competitive product to load on to the trailer because we are all born with a competitive nature and a little John Wayne!Your hosts and fellow breeders involved in this event have proven that they can play on the big field and be in the hunt. But to be in the hunt on the big field, you need a cow herd capable of producing the competitive product year after year. While the Brooks are rookies, Karl and Karen, George and Corey have had their share of

success whether it was at Bonanza, Agribition, Denver or right at home. The strength is based on an all-star lineup in their donor programs; powerful, proven cow families and new cutting edge genetics through sires they infuse into their herds. The sale offering is by far, the strongest and deepest that has ever been presented at public auction. Several of the feature lots will be in the hunt this fall and on through Denver, but most importantly, will become front pasture herd builders in their new homes in years to follow. Consider the genetic offering through Untapped, 521X, Tank, Jack and Tundra 110X ... the right kind, the right numbers and bred to be and will be competitive!During the last week of August in Hanover, Ontario, a package of fifty-one British influence grass steers ( 950-1000 weight) brought a net of just over $1500.00 per head. We have talked about strength of the market in the past while... the North American cow herd shortage and now... we are seeing the signals of times ahead. Since Herefords are looked upon as maternal and the demand for breeding stock increasing, 2013 might be the last year to acquire quality seed stock at affordable levels. The Sweep Steaks weekend in Eastern Saskatchewan is one of the highlights of the Hereford industry in Canada ... great hospitality, but more importantly, great cattle. ANL is located just minutes south of Meadow Acres, so plan to join us the evening prior, view the offering and enjoy some snacks and refreshments. With oil and Saskatchewan booming, accommodations are at a premium, so please book ahead. If we, at T Bar C, may be of assistance, prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to give Chris, Shane or myself a call. See you at ANL.Ted
