• One of nine regional networks in England
•Developed in response to need for greater awareness of public health to tackle health inequalities
•Main overall aims of the networks are to:
•Increase capacity in public health education
•Increase the breadth and depth of learners exposure to public health education
•Initial DH funding for 18 months www.TPHN.org.uk
Key objectives of NETPHN
•To increase the profile of public health across the region
•To embed public health in curricula
•To develop and enhance public health teaching capacity and capability
•To co-ordinate sharing of existing good practice
•To be national lead on embedding public health training for the Children’s workforce
