The Sycamore Middle School Jazz Strings performed holiday music at Feed’em Soup in DeKalb on December 12th. Feed’em Soup provides weekly meals to all members of the community on a “donate-what-you-can” basis with the expectation that you “Give what you can. Eat what you need”. This was a great opportunity for the Jazz Strings musicians, under direction of Mrs. Tonaki, Mrs. Kazda, and Mrs. Marberry, to perform for the community. Mrs. Tonaki comments, “It was a wonderful experience for the students and the crowd was so pleased to have live music!”

Upcoming Collage Concert The Fifth Grade Band, Eighth Grade Band, and High School Symphonic Band will present the annual Collage Concert on Monday, January 28, at 7:00 p.m., in the Auditorium. This concert is unique, because it features multiple grade levels and shorter performances of lighter selections that are always fun for both the audience and the band members. It is also an excellent way to view the progression of a band member as he or she makes the transition from a beginner to an intermediate to an advanced musician.
