Establishedin1940andmovedtothepresentsitein1980,NorthpineChristianCollegeissetinabeautifulbush-landenvironmentjust10minutesfromWestfieldNorthLakes,and30kmnorthofcentralBrisbane.TheCollegerunsaschoolbussystemtoconvenienceparentsandstudents.

OUR STRUCTUREChildcare and Early Learning CentreOurwellequippedandfullyaccreditedEarlyLearningCentrelaysstrongChristianfoundationsforcapable,confidentandselfdisciplinedchildren.Thecentrealsooffersparentstheconvenienceofhavingtheirchildrencaredforintheonelocation.Thespeciallytrainedstaffmotivateeachchild,andtheage-appropriatelearningexperiencespreparethemforformalschooling.OutsideSchoolHoursandVacationCarearealsoavailable.

Primary School (Prep - Year 6)OurPrimarySchoolfocusesonnurturingchildrenthroughtheearlyyearsofformalschoolingwithacaringcommunityofstaff,studentsandparents.Awell-roundedcurriculumbalancedwithpastoralcareandstudentsupportprovidesasolidbaseforpersonalachievement.Theschool’svaluesprogramisintroducedinthePrimarySchool,developingpositivecharacterandsocialtraitsasthechildrengrow.

Middle School (Years 7 - 9)OurMiddleSchoolStudentsareencouragedtodiscovertheirpersonalinterestsanddeveloptheirfullpotentialthroughabalancedandflexiblecurriculum,whichcoversthecorelearningareasalongwithprovidingopportunitiestoexperienceabroadrangeofelectives.NorthpineChristianCollegerecognisesthatstudentsintheMiddleSchoolhaveuniqueneeds.Atthiscrucialagestudentsneedtobeengagedinmeaningfulandrelevantlearningwithteacherswhoaregenuinelyinterestedandcareabouttheirstudents’wellbeing.Studentsareencouragedtorecognizethatsuccessrequiresacommitmenttolifelonglearning.

OUR CURRICULUMNorthpineChristianCollegehasimplementedtheAustralianCurriculum(ACARA)fromPreptoYear10,cateringforstudentswithavarietyofabilitiesandinterestssupportedbyastrongco-curricularprogram.

Primary SchoolOurInfantsteachers(PreptoYear2)workwithourstudents,tobuildastrongfoundationbyteachingthebasicsofliteracyandnumeracyaswellasthemanyotherskillsthattheywillneedtobecomesuccessfulstudents.

InourJuniorSchool(Years3–6),thefocusisthedevelopmentofindependentthinkingandworkingskillsthatbuildonthestrongfoundationthathasbeenlaidintheInfantSchool.

OurPreptoYear6studentshavespecialistDigitalTechnologies,MusicandPhysicalEducationteacherstoteachthosesubjects,andYear5-6studentsaretaughtJapaneseaspartoftheircurriculumleadingintoMiddleSchool.WealsohaveaLearningCentrestaffedwithteachersandteacheraideswhosupportstudentsinclass,aswellasprovidingtheopportunityforstudentswhoneedittoreceivegrouphelp.

• Bullyingisconfrontedbyacomprehensivestudentmanagementpolicyindealingwiththemanagementofbullies.Itisaddressedinclassrooms,chapelsandassembliesasneeded.BulliesarecounselledandsupportedthroughaRestorativePracticeProgramandifnoimprovementismade,theycanbeaskedtoleavethecollege.Staffarein-servicedandsupportedregularlyinrelationtobullyingissues.In2012thecollegestartedtheBullyingFreeNCCCampaignasawaytocounteractbullying.
