Welcome to Woodstock! America is undergoing harmful political and social changes daily while we experience an erosion of the very foundations we relied upon over many decades. While putting trust in the “Me Too”, “Times Up”, women’s and youth leaderships, we can turn to cultural institutions and organizations that remain safely in place. Numerous Woodstock cultural organizations celebrating anniversaries in 2018 & 2019 offer a haven of openness and courage during these challenging times. Founded in the 18th century and an art colony since 1902, Woodstock achieved status as an ideal state of mind, conveying freedom, conscious thinking and values of uniqueness and authenticity while our natural surroundings of streams and mountains magically stimulate and elevate local creative souls as well as tourists. Our Town continues to inspire visitors and residents as a utopian “Colony of the Arts”, flourishing with individualistic ideas. In this time of such political and social polarization we stand committed to honor, guard and sustain the history, ideals and hard work that created these institutions, our home to us. —Pat Horner 12 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498 COVER ART: Painting by Pat Horner ONGOING Bearsville Theatre 679-4406 Byrdcliffe Art Colony 679-2079 Center for Photography - workshops, lectures 679-9957 Colony Café - music, visual arts, events 679-7625 Historical Society of Woodstock 679-2256 Levon Helm /The Midnight Rambles (by reservation) 679-2744 Maverick Concerts Jun 30 - Sep 2 679-8217 Mower’s Flea Market, May - Nov.
