Dear Friends and Supporters of Catholic Charities,What a privilege it is to lead this organization every day, and what an especially meaningful honor it is to serve during the milestone of our Centennial in 2020. We have so much to cele-brate together – 100 years of Providing Help and Creating Hope!

Our work in 2020 is vast and varied, and so, too, is the com-munity of individuals and organizations who share our com-mitment to the dignity and potential of all people.

We are grateful for your investment in programs that help an individual working with a counselor to overcome substance abuse, an intellectually or developmentally disabled adult to achieve increased independence, a neighborhood-focused Family Center creating a network of support for families to gain self-sufficiency, and hundreds of children being nurtured through every stage of development. All of these initiatives and more are expressions of a broader purpose, to live the message of the Gospels.

Thank you again for supporting people and communities in need, and for entrusting Catholic Charities to make a positive difference in their lives. Without such a generous and committed level of engagement from so many supporters, this work simply would not be possible.

During our Centennial year, we hope you will join us as we celebrate this milestone, creating opportunities to unite in a spirit of togetherness, expressing gratitude for the good works performed by so many kind and caring people over the years, and building the foundation for the next hundred years.

Your support of this Catholic Charities event has made a real difference to the children, individuals and families we serve across the Archdiocese.

n Catholic Charities Family Centers provided approximately 4,500 individuals and families with basic needs, family strengthening and literacy services, parenting education, leadership training, and early childhood support for families.

n More than 7,200 children and adults received behavioral health services, benefit-ting over 18,000 family members, including assistance with individual and group therapy to address problems associated with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, anger management, trauma, grief and loss, and other mental health issues.

n More than 400 children, aged 3 to 5 years old, received services in licensed and accredited early childcare centers in Hartford, Meriden, New Haven and Waterbury, with 180 children prepared to successfully transition to kindergarten.

n Catholic Charities provided competent and compassionate care to 29 residents in Group Homes for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and started providing a Learning and Life Skills Program to both Group Home residents and other individuals in the community with the same disabilities.

n Catholic Charities provided supportive services to 385 seniors through our two senior centers in Hartford and home based programs.

n Through the Archbishop’s Emergency Assistance Fund, Catholic Charities was able to provide basic needs support, information, and referral to over 300 individuals. Over $190,000 was distributed in direct assistance.

n Through our adoption services program, 125 individuals received support to facilitate searches for relatives or child placement information.

n Supportive housing services in Hartford and Waterbury provided services for 200 residents.
