The Army Institute of Management, Kolkata is one of the leading
management schools in India. Established on 28th July, 1997 by the Army
Welfare Education Society (AWES), New Delhi, the Institute is the first of its
kind in India. It has, along with other vocational institutes under the aegis of
the AWES, made quality management education available at affordable cost
to the wards of Army personnel. Students from general category(20%) can
also apply here.
Initially, AIMK was known as National Institute of Management Calcutta
(NIMC). The Institute’s current name was given on 11th Feb, 2005.
The Institute's MBA program is approved by the All India Council for Techni-
cal Education (AICTE) and the Institute is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam
Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (MAKAUT) formerly known
as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).

IN CAMPUS EVENT
PASSING THE BATTON
As every reign has passed on stage, the same goes for the student council of the Army Institute of
Management, Kolkata. With great eagerness, students of the latest year awaited for this great
moment and prepare themselves. An election was held in prior in order to decide the new council
members.
On 30th may 2019, the Army Institute of Management, Kolkata Organised an “oath taking
ceremony” for the newly elected council members. Dr. Malini Majumdar, Offg Director,
Professor of Army Institute of Management, Kolkata along with all the faculty members were
present for this auspicious occasion. The event started with handing over the batton to the newly
elected council member from the former council members. Former president Mr. Ravi Raj Singh
Shekhawat delivered his speech thanking the new council members and shared his experience
which he had gone through during his tenure. After that, the oath was taken. The event was come
to an end by giving away the certificates to the former council, club and E-Newsletter members

THIS IS A FAREWELL, NOT A
GOODBYE
Every beginning has an end. And every end is a new beginning. College days are the best period
in student’s life, and sadly this period has ended for MBA Batch -21 students, but for a new start
and new career.
On 26th May 2019, the junior students from MBA Batch – 22, of Army Institute of Management,
Kolkata organized a farewell party for their seniors. The program began with the scribbling
session in the morning. In the scribbling ceremony, the senior batch mates came in white shirts
and scribbled on each other’s shirts, wrote their emotions, wishes and messages. It’s rightly said,
“The ink on the shirt might fade, but the words and its meaning and more than anything else - the
writers of those words shall be cherished”.
In the evening event, there was a Bollywood theme party, wherein senior came in wearing
beautiful and elegant attires. The evening program began with the juniors' performances. The
juniors enthusiastically performed dances and farewell songs for the seniors; they sang the good
bye songs which again created an ambiance full of emotions. And later the program was
followed with the tag and title distribution, along with video presentation which reminded them
of their two years of journey in this college.
The event ended with DJ Night, wherein all the juniors and seniors came together, danced and
