Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” Isaiah 54:1 “Sing, O barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the LORD. Genesis 18:19 “For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the
LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.” Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (Before they entered the Promised Land) “4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5 Love
the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”

PRAYERThe Lord’s PrayerTHOUGHTS TO PONDER – SCRIPTURE TO APPLY1. How have you seen & how do you see the grace of God in mothering? 2. How can a woman who has never been married experience the heart and fruitfulness of a mother? (Isaiah 54:1) 3. How many children did the missionary Amy Carmichael have? 4. How can men and women who are not yet married honor God's gift of mothering? 5. How does God's grace restore the special gifting of God in mothering (and fathering) when we have violated His ways? 6. What are some ways to honor our mothers? 7. How does a covenant in which parents dedicate their children to the Lord help to fulfill God's call to us regarding our children? 8. How can Sunday school, Children's Church, VBS, Youth Group, etc. play a role in training up our children in the ways of the Lord? 9. Can you share a situation in which God used you to bless a child beyond your family?
