ÜBER-DIRECTOR Norman Jewison, one of our greatest liv-ing directors and a past King Vidor Award winner, returned to the SLOIFF to present the award to Alan Arkin, whose screen debut was in Jewison’s The Russians Are Coming the Russians Are Coming.

SWEET AND FUNNY James Cromwell was the life of the party, sweet and charming to everyone.

BUDDING FILMMAKER Valentine Pillow, a 13-year-old who took the young filmmakers’ workshop, collaborating on The Creek Boy, which was screened at the festival.
