Once again All Saints will be cooking and tossing pancakes (and eating a few!) on
February 17th between 11.am and 1pm
Although it is Table Tennis in the hall we will be in the committee room so please use the side door.
There will be a raffle and an opportunity to chat over a traditional pancake with filling of your choice.
It was so disappointing to walk round the Village at Christmas and see
that we have a number of selfish dog owners who slink anonymously
away from the mess deposited by their pets.
Perhaps 2015 could be a year when we need to encourage all efforts
to promote responsible dog ownership and crack down of the small
minority of dog owners who do not pick up their dog’s mess.
THE PROBLEM DOES APPEAR PERSISTENT AND DIFFICULT TO SOLVE
A solution could be that we introduce a new section in the Ashcott
Harvest Fayre photographic category “caught on camera - owner
and dog”
Alternatively reported in the Times recently is news of a company
called Streetkleen. Based on an American Service called PooPrints any
mess that is not picked up by owners could be matched to a DNA
database to find the culprit!
Alternatively all dog owners in Ashcott could take responsibility for
their pets and considers others who walk along our roads.

After almost three years of meetings, consultation evenings, questionnaires, harvest fairs, research, site visits and yet more meetings...
We are delighted to announce that the draft version of the Ashcott Neighbourhood
Development Plan will be published on the village website (www.ashcott.net) on 1st January, 2015.
So it is vitally important to hear your thoughts about this draft plan during the six
week consultation period. To make this easier, we are holding open sessions in Ashcott Village Hall. Your feedback will help us create the final plan, which we then hope parishioners will be happy to help adopt in a referendum early in the summer
next year.
What to do
or
then
Please send your comments in writing,
by email to [email protected]
or by post to Clerk of Ashcott Parish Council , 26 Shapwick Road, Westhay, Glastonbury, Somerset BA6 9TU
Or by hand to any member of the Steering Group
Please make sure that the comment is received by the 6th February 2015 And/or
make your comments in person, or talk it through with a member of the group. The
events will be held in the Village Hall committee room
9th January 2015 from 7pm until 9pm
14th February 2015 from 12 noon until 3:30pm
Light refreshments will be available
REMEMBER IT IS IMPORTANT FOR US TO HEAR YOUR COMMENTS Your views have been at the very heart of this enterprise. They have shaped the Neighbourhood Plan from the outset.
This will mark the start of a six week consultation period during which we will be asking parishioners for important
feedback about the draft plan.
Your views have shaped and are incorporated in this draft Neighbourhood Plan, which we believe will give parishioners
a stronger say in village development and planning until 2027, and perhaps beyond.

Church News
Thank you
Words seem too small to express the depth of thanks
both Mike and I would wish to express for our gifts,
your kind words and sentiments. Thank you all so much
for being part of our lives in the last 6 years. We have
said our goodbyes, and thanks before but were over-
whelmed by your generosity. So a simple thank you will
have to do; but it comes from our hearts as well as an
act of courtesy.
Mike & Trish Ollive
