Darkness was prevailing,And most of the time I was wailing…

Didn’t have much strength to fight,And in my life all I needed was light…

Time was pushing me into a cage,And it seemed to have too much of

rage…Then suddenly I saw a shimmering

light,It was much needed in my life…

Till date I don’t know how it changed so fast,

It made me worry how long would it last…

I saw towards the joyful light,It was just a candle burning bright…

I knew one day it would dim and fade,But I couldn’t just sit and wait…

But what would I have done to stop,It got dimmer as the time passed on the

clock…My worries came out to be right,

And it all vanished as fast as it had come in my sight…

Darkness came back racing in,It took away my entire grin…

The sadness was back,The happiness again lack…

Time flew away and years passed,But this time it didn’t last…

I still remember that moment so bright,What could have changed, after all it

was just a candle’s light…Madhurima Kashyap
