The Stu Clark Centre focuses

on the development of new

businesses and entrepreneurial

thinking among students by

encouraging them to consider

entrepreneurship as their life’s

calling. The Centre puts young

entrepreneurial thinkers through

their paces via classroom

learning, business planning and

venture pitching to train them

as disciplined entrepreneurs.

Students work with inventors

to get a new product or service

to market. They prepare plans,

crunch numbers, research the

market and present their idea to

potential investors at business

planning competitions across

North America and around

the world. Asper teams have

achieved the most wins of any

school – over 50 – at interna-

tional business competitions.

“ I took away two key

things from the Centre

for entrepreneurship:

The knowledge of how

to take an idea from

concept to reality and,

maybe more importantly,

the knowledge, courage

and belief that I can

take an idea from concept

to reality.” Kevin MichalukChief Media Officer, Mobile NationsFounder and Editor, Crackberry.comBComm (Hons) 2004

entirely run by students in the

CSA, brings together executive

members of business school

student councils from across

the country.

The jdC West Business Competition is one of the most

prominent business school com-

petitions in Western Canada,

with over 600 top students

from 12 schools competing for

excellence in academics, sports,

school spirit and sportsmanship.

Asper students care about their community. It shows in fund-raisers like Shinerama and 5 days for the Homeless. This year, our students raised over $62,000 for both charities.

The Atrium is the hub of it all,

a bustling light-filled space

where students gather to hear

special guests, promote fundrais-

ers, events and student groups,

or hang out with friends.

The Scotiabank Technology Centre provides our students

with access to 80 computers

and high speed laser printers.

Asper students have wireless

access throughout the building.

The Albert d. Cohen Manage-ment library supports the

study, research and teaching

needs of Asper School students,

faculty and staff.

The Library is home to the

new Finance Training lab.

The Lab gives students access

to the latest financial data and

the ability to complete projects

that focus on real-life business

decisions, helping to bridge

business theory with practice.

The core of the Lab consists

of ten Bloomberg terminals

– which equip our faculty and

students with one of the world’s

leading financial knowledge

tools.

The Drake Centre features

newly renovated study areas

designed for both group

projects or individual work.

The young Associates Cafeteria is a popular place to

get work done while enjoying

a bite to eat.
