From the Pastor : Written on Monday, Aug 10, 2015… Birthdays. Every year we can count on birthdays. We celebrate birthdays when we are young, but somewhere along the line, birthdays seem to lose their joy. Why is that? Is it that we are getting older? Is it that we really don’t care much about celebrating it? Why do we lose the joy? When was the last time we celebrated a birthday of a child? Do you remember the joy on that child’s face? Why do you think that is? Was it the gifts? Was is the cake? Or was it the people praising God for another year? Birthdays get tough though when you get past a certain age. For me it was when Sabrina was born. Her birthday is August 8 th and mine is the 11 th . So I just pushed my birthday in the back burner and celebrated hers. I love my birthday. I love that God allows me to live another year, but I don’t really celebrate it. Maybe you are the same way, or maybe you don’t like your birthday at all. That just brings me to one of my favorite verses…. <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< Psalm 118:24 (NKJV) 24 This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< Birthdays are a blessing, rejoice in it. I need to do a better job at it. Will you join me? After all, the Lord made the day. Love You All In Christ, Bro. Musically Speaking

Stuart Underwood, Minister of Music

What a GREAT Sunday morning service we had! I want to personally thank all of our educators for their willingness and their commitment to serve during the service. A special thanks to our speakers who shared from the heart. We are lucky to have these people as members of our congregation. Thanks to (retired) Laura Lee and piano educator Becky for their beautiful offertory of "Love Lifted Me", to Lisa Johnson for her special music, and Donya Baker for her children's sermon. This Sunday morning during the morning worship Becky and Laura Lee will be playing our offertory. The Adult Choir will be presenting an anthem that includes "Jesus Paid It All" with "Above All".

Have a great week! Stuart
