Automated mud tank cleaning systems dramatically reduce cleaning time and eliminate confined space entry into drilling mud tanks on Offshore Supply Vessels (OSV). These systems eliminate the need for personnel to enter the tanks for potentially hazardous manual cleaning using pressure washers and water hoses.

To reduce cleaning time dramatically, eliminate

in place cleaning systems are available for installationon Offshore Supply Vessels (OSV). The installations ofthe automatic systems replaces the traditional methodof in-tank cleaning by personnel utilizing pressurewashers, water hoses and manual cleaning.

A Mud Tank Cleaning System typicallyconsists of :

The Butterworth UBF has been designed to throughan opening as small as 1.00" in diameter. As standard,made completely of high quality 316L stainlesssteel with a high polished Typical uses aresmall comtainers used within the beverage industry;small bore pipes, and as augmentation to larger CIPinstallations.

A typical cleaning Procedure for Drilling Mud will varyfrom Water Based on Oil Based Synthetics, but ingeneral the procedure will consist of:

• Pre rinse• Solutioning (when chemicals are required)• Post Rinse

With a properly installed system and with properoperation, a typical mud tank can be cleaned in 30minutes or less with minimal slop generation.
