Now that the summer season is drawing to a close, there is still so much culturally to experience right here in our own backyard of Wagga Wagga. This April Wagga Wagga Art Gallery welcomes the 16th Ausglass Conference – The Collective Vision as the premier event in Australia for contemporary glass, with exhibitions, lectures, events and workshops spread over three days. During March and April we celebrate our seniors and our youth with Seniors Week, Youth Week and Regenerate as well as our wonderful school holiday programs. Wagga Wagga boasts an exciting array of activities and facilities which allow our community and visitors to experience our rich cultural life. As the largest regional city in New South Wales, we provide a vibrant, progressive and endearing place to live, work, learn and play.

AUSTRALIAN SIGNATURES: THE NATIONAL ART GLASS COLLECTION17 - 24 March 2013Australian Signatures presents a unique history of glass over the past four decades, with a selection of works from the National Art Glass Collection, Australia’s largest collection of this fascinating artform. From pioneering works of the 1970s to the most recent boundary-pushing explorations, Australian Signatures highlights the excitement of glass!

STEP GENTLY ON THIS EARTH AND THIS SKYStep Gently on This Earth and This Sky showcases a unique collaborative project between the University of Melbourne’s Early Learning Centre and Philip Stokes Glass Studio. Over five years, almost two hundred children have participated in the creation of unique, handcrafted glass artworks inspired by environmental themes.

TOM CASTRO: THE MAN WHO NEVER WASIn 1866, Wagga butcher Tom Castro set in motion one of the greatest cases of disputed identity in modern history. Was he really Sir Roger Tichborne who vanished at sea in 1854? This exhibition showcases the Museum’s Tichborne collection, including new acquisitions.

KIDZTRACKKidztrack is a way for families to explore the Museum and learn about Wagga stories. Introduce your children to the wonderful world of museums and Wagga history through this interactive self-guided activity sheet. The track will lead them to Kidzone, a discovery space just for kids.

BABY BOUNCEBaby Bounce is a four week early literacy programme for 0-12 month old babies and their carers.

The programme introduces your baby to the rhythm and sound of language using songs, rhymes, books and music. You will also get to meet other carers with babies.

REMINISCENCE BOXESThe Museum of the Riverina offers a free Reminiscence Box loan service for use in group work with seniors, by aged care activity officers and community groups. There are 6 themed boxes, each with items of significance to encourage reminiscence through touch, sight, sound and smell.

ACCESS TO FUNDINGSuccessfully obtaining funds for your museum or gallery requires knowledge and creativity. M&G NSW, in partnership with the Museum of the Riverina, presents Access to Funding. You can join speakers from federal and state organisations in a workshop delivering skills and specialist knowledge to make accessing funds a reality.
