• Azalt® ECO2 binders are especially designed for the manufacturing of

warm mix asphalts

• As any binder of our Azalt® range, Azalt® ECO2 binders meet the

requirements of EN 12 591 (Bitumen and bituminous binders -

Specifications for paving grade bitumens)

• Warm mixes manufactured with Azalt® ECO2 binder show as good

mechanical performances as those of hot mixes and are consequently

recommended for the same laying applications :

– base course

– binder course

– surface course

HANDLING RECOMMENDATIONS

• For Azalt® ECO2 binders storage:

– Storage tank: empty entirely the tank before the

first discharge

– Storage temperature: equivalent to that of a

conventional equivalent penetration grade

– Storage duration: Azalt® ECO2 binders will remain

stable up to 15 days if bitumen storage best

practises are followed

• Handling of Azalt® ECO2 binders at the mixing

plant doesn’t require any equipments

modification

– Regular fonctioning of mixing plant equipments, at

a mixing temperature lowered up to 40 °C
